Wanted to make homework more challenging and purposeful, so I created critical thinking booklets, which have some fab reading materials for students to critique.
Thanks: @mrsmacteach33@SPryke2@SaysMiss@britishlibrary@TheRSC amongst others!

I had no money growing up. My dad was a labourer and my mum did everything to make ends meet. Men worked hard. Women worked miracles. But education was free. As was the local library. I knew books were my passport to a better life. #SupportLibraries
@lessoncopy Show them you care, and tell them why you want them to do well. It's very hard to dislike a teacher who thinks highly of you, and wants the best for you.
Beyond exciting to see ♥️ How To Get a 9 in Shakespeare 🖤 out in the wild! I’d love to give away a free copy: if you fancy one for a #Shakespeare mad Year 10/11, your own bedside table #CPD, or to put on a department bookshelf - just retweet! TIA #teamenglish#freebie#comp
It’s time for a GIVEAWAY!
To celebrate the release of our book from @JohnCattEd myself and @BeckyTeachopia have TWO copies we’d like to give away.
You just need to RETWEET and LIKE this tweet. We will pick two people at random on Wednesday evening.

@Lhowell131988@LisaCook81@AQA In exactly the same boat as you. I’m not sure where to go from here as I’ve exhausted trying to make contact with @AQA now. Absolute shambles.
@fellowliteracy@AQA Yes same boat here - generic response over social media but no one responding to emails or answering phone calls! Very annoyed and frustrated.
@toosweettwoo@AQAEnglish@AQA Just shocking isn’t it? I was on the phone straight after school yesterday and then they switched the phones off half an hour before they were meant to close as well. Disgusting treatment overall.
@AQAEnglish@AQA so, repeatedly on hold for well over 30 mins on the phone with it terminated and no response to emails sent days ago. No payment or payslip produced and at nearly 100% of papers marked - when are you going to sort this out? Poor experience for a first time marker
🧵 for teachers who like poetry but don’t always have time to explore beyond exam anthologies to contemporary poets. Random order - with possible GCSE anthology pairings if you want to teach them. Otherwise just enjoy! Feel free to add👇@Team_English1#edutwitter
@DeeCanEnglish@Farhadilady@Team_English1 We are moving towards a model that focuses more on ‘live feedback’ during lessons rather than excessive marking every book each time we do an extended piece of writing. It relies on teachers being proactive during lessons, but feedback is instant which students can use.
