Shout out to Officer Fuller for kicking off our monthly clubs with a great discussion about school safety and her role in our building! ๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ@RedHouseRun#SEL
Students practiced spelling their names AND enjoyed a virtual assembly. So many fun things going on in our Bridge to Kindergarten program this summer. @RedHouseRun
I think our students have really become masters at this first day of school thing. Way to go RHR B2K! It was so nice to see your smiling faces again. @RedHouseRun
@franbowman1 This is so frustrating! Students make so much progress during intervention but are then given a guided reading level that doesnโt align properly. It discourages them and distracts families from all that wonderful hard work their child has done.
Got teary eyed in my post observation conference after my AP said the biggest difference she saw was that the students were so excited to be reading. Thatโs what itโs all about! Thank you, @franbowman1, for helping me make a difference! #ortongillingham#whyiteach
1. Sound walls for teacher learning? Check! This sound wall created by reading specialist Tambra Isenberg was created for teachers & details the vowel valley sounds & corresponding graphemes- note how she added the frequency/percentages of the sound-spellings.
We started our day by showing our appreciation for our amazing principal, Leah Scarafile! We are so lucky to have her as our leader. @RedHouseRun#principalappreciationmonth
This is so true! I picked my kiddos up for small group today and they actually reminded me that I forgot our greeting. It warms my heart that a small gesture means so much to them. โค๏ธ
Greetings are important all day long and not just in the morning. Departmentalized? Special area teacher? Cafeteria? Bus driver? Walking down the hall? Greet kids (and adults) when they get to you.
Mariyah, our school-wide student greeter, is official! She now has her own apron! Mariyah greets all students and parents as they arrive each morning. @RedHouseRun@BcpsMTSS
