Between daily brood tracking, nest searching, camera trapping, raptor counts, insect sampling & habitat classification, I am one exhausted researcher. While the season is slowing down at Chico, chicks are now hatching at my high elevation site. Here we go again—from the top now!

The past weeks’ve been a blur of late cold fronts, indecisive plovers, nest searching & 6 failed nests just this week—but finally, my 1st brood hatched Tuesday—in an intense storm & promptly disappeared while I couldn’t access the site! Luckily, I was able to relocate them!!
