Working on a new model of the political spectrum. The typical two-dimensional depictions only identify a political ideology or bent, in relation to X,Y axes. None I've seen adequately illustrate the resulting consequence of moving in any direction from the origin. The quadrants are presumed to be infinite and always moving away from the origin. That model is untenable as it fails to characterize what the movement is toward.

There are innumerable paths along which people choose to tread and/or compel others to follow. Each is at the sacrifice of absolute individual liberty and leads, inevitably, to the same result--absolute tyranny--even gradual, incremental movements.

One could imagine latitudinal lines on the spectrum which they deem allowable. "I'm willing to sacrifice this amount of personal liberty in order to achieve this goal" and/or, "I'm willing to limit this amount of individual liberty of everyone because this other thing is more important to me."

The question then becomes, "How far is too far?" Is there a latitudinal line that, once crossed, is impossible or extremely difficult to reverse? (Imagine opposing gravitational forces) Is that line the same for each path? Are there warning signs, obvious and indisputable to everyone?

Anyway, this is just the beginning of my exploration. Feel free to critique.
