One part of HertzFlowโs oracle design I found genuinely worth understanding is its fallback slippage protection.
When Pyth data becomes unavailable or stale beyond 3 seconds, @Hertzflow_xyz can fall back to CEX index prices.
But the interesting part is how those prices are weighted.
HertzFlow evaluates each venue using:
โข Depth within ยฑ1% of the current price
โข Support from the top 3 order-book levels
โข Balance between total bids and asks
These factors form a composite exchange score:
Score = wโ ร a + wโ ร b + wโ ร c
The scores then determine how much each exchange contributes to the final aggregated index.
So the fallback mechanism isnโt simply take prices from exchanges and average them. It also considers the quality and liquidity of their order books.
Thatโs a technical detail worth knowing when looking at HertzFlowโs oracle architecture.
