I already have two books I need to finish writing AND a documentary to produce but if I had the time and space, the book I'd want to write next is "AI Design Patterns".

Lot's of shallow/early books out already, but none I have read look at the more fundamental patterns emerging for harnesses, along with a sound examination of the tradeoffs of each.

From the lens of my world as an architect, this is a very exciting, vibrant time.

I was curious how banning straws globally would stack up against @TheOceanCleanup’s current impact.

US beach cleanup data suggests straws make up just 0.005% of plastic pollution.

The Ocean Cleanup is now stopping 2–5% of global plastic inflow (and growing rapidly)

So our current impact is already ~400–1000x what a global straw ban could ever achieve!

An interesting proposal for restoring human versus machine chess competition was to limit the machine to the same energy expenditure as the human brain. A worthy challenge, considering the amount of power required for AI data centers!
