Why small factories beat the big ones in China
From hard experience: (packaging, CNC, assembly)
Huge factories in Dongguan = waste of time.
You’re just one of hundreds of clients → slow replies, ignored emails, quotes take 2 weeks.
Price often 50% higher.
Small Shenzhen factories (50–500 people, ~50 machines) deliver better prices + actual responsiveness.
Why? Brutal competition among the small ones forces them to hustle harder for every order.
Size isn’t strength.
Attention and competition are.
Big size just creates more middle management and slows down decision-making.
The thing corporate structures in China prevent is anything with a slight risk or uncertainty in future demand, thats how startups get denied or are not taken seriously.
@ihorbeaver looks great, makes a lot of sense until Humanoids start getting mass produced and they figure out working with tiny components. Sent you a DM.
@oasisrick Loving the OASIS ring — private voice + trackpad is a good interface for AI. Have experience with manufacturing wearables in SZ, let's talk in DM's. Excited about what you’re building!
