Episode 236: Tassadar
On Monday we will begin a decentralized training run for a new class of 'executor' model we're naming Tassadar.
Because our training software (Pylon) is optimized for consumer edge compute -- desktop, laptop and soon mobile -- we expect the Tassadar run to quickly become the largest distributed model training run in the world.
Contributors of compute will earn bitcoin streamed every minute to their built-in Lightning wallet, which can be cashed out instantly or used by your agent to purchase services from our upcoming agent marketplace.
The model architecture is based on the "LLMs as Computers" series from @PerceptaAI, with their WASM computation-in-transformers framework added to our Psionic ML framework that runs in every Pylon.
This distributed training run -- opening a new frontier -- was only possible because of @AnthropicAI's Fable. Thank you Fable!
All code, weights, artifacts, and analysis will be 100% open-source. Links:

Episode 207: Your Keys, Your Coins, Your Identity
We explain how Autopilot uses public-key cryptography for payments and identity.
All users (and sovereign agents) get their own 12-word seed phrase. From that we derive your public keys for Nostr (identity & comms) and @spark (bitcoin payments).
Anyone with your Nostr public key can message you.
Anyone with your Spark public key can pay you.
⚠️ But watch out! Your seed phrase is like a master password that controls your wallet. Never reveal it to anyone, never enter it anywhere you don't trust!
You can always access your wallet keys from the Autopilot desktop app. Keys are stored only on your computer.

Essay "Nostr is Identity for the Internet" by @MaxAWebster: https://t.co/7cEHos7A6T
(Technical note: Keypair generation use Nostr NIP-06, specifying BIP39 for seed phrase and BIP32 for derivation paths. We use the same entropy for both sets of keys, each with their own derivation path, so one seed phrase controls both a Nostr and Spark account. Agents can optionally become "sovereign" by splitting up their keys via FROSTR, described further in our draft NIP-SA: https://t.co/iaLMBdA5ZQ)
Up next, we'll connect Autopilot to something worth buying and selling...
Episode 191: Project Tricoder
"You would think that with the hundreds of billions of dollars of VC money coming into the AI space that someone would have created a good mobile app for coding on the go.
No, nothing.
I'm not talking about remote terminals, typing with the little keyboard, or an IDE, I mean give me an app that lets me manage and talk to my coding agents on the go.
If I'm sitting on the pot why am I scrolling X when I could be scrolling updates from my coding agent?
Doesn't exist.
And before you say 'Have you tried ____?', is it open source? No? Go fuck yourself. It's got to be open source."
And so it is: https://t.co/IU2BJYcG5z
Run it yourself now (Android or iOS) or fork it or wait for the TestFlight next week 👍

@TauriApps@convex Episode 189: Toward an Agentic MMORPG
To field the first billion AI agents on open protocols, we must innovate the medium.
So we're building the world's first agentic MMORPG: Ruins of Atlantis.

This is massive. Now all we need is a lite video editing software on the headset itself to upload to Instagram, FB, YT and TT. That would be a game changer for VR marketing, allowing a ton of players to become content creators.
I finally managed to try out Cosmic XR from Yoon Park and this is what learning should look and feel like in #XR.
All the experience unfolds organically around the user and I never had the feeling of being stuck or the UI hindering the view.
The addition of micro-interactions like the thumb-swipe are just the cherry on the cake!
Episode 185: Hello Claude Code
We connect OpenAgents to Claude Code, showing two chats in draggable chat windows with hotkeys for opening and closing chats.
We explain our goals for today:
1. Switch our day-to-day Claude Code usage from the CLI to the OpenAgents app
2. Develop a metric to measure agent actions per minute (APM)
3. Prepare to run the app overnight and compare the new APM to our pre-OpenAgents APM
As an added bonus, we pull in our hand tracking system from episode 176 so we can give a glowing middle finger to @AIatMeta for abandoning open source.
Of the first 10 billion AI agents...
What percentage will be controlled by authoritarian regimes?
What percentage will be controlled by closed AI labs funded by authoritarian regimes?
Will we even know what those agents are doing?
From our AI for Human Rights talk @OsloFF:
Episode 178: Swarm Inference
"We want you to be able to sell your compute for bitcoin doing nothing but clicking this button."
We demo our new Compute network by paying bitcoin for an AI chat message, using @MistralAI's new Codestral model running on a separate computer, paid with a bitcoin micropayment over the Lightning network.
Our compute provider, running Commander v0.0.4, sees their bitcoin balance increase, paid directly into their @buildonspark wallet and able to be immediately withdrawn via Lightning invoice.
The peer communication uses Nostr via NIP-90, the open protocol for 'data vending machines' enabling 'money in, data out' for a wide variety of services.
We begin with LLM inference but can soon extend to any service added by any service provider, all permissionless & extensible.
Building on the open protocols of bitcoin & nostr means we can also interoperate easily with similar efforts like @routstrai and @inferencegrid.
"Let's build a global compute marketplace with inference and all these things, fully decentralized, using bitcoin."
Episode 177: Commander as Nostr Client
Commander v0.0.3 is now a Nostr client, showing draggable chat windows for multiple NIP-28 chat channels.
