@marcheparlafoi@Romy_Holland I'd argue I would rather a boring delivery driver than a reckless and dangerous one. Driving requires training and a license for a reason.
@undecommission@llwtydeer In Europe you two weeks isn't enough to explore any of the zones shown fully. Frankly, it's not enough to explore anywhere in the world that large.
@Turkleton_Cat@AlfonsoHegao Whole weekend spent with dad dragging you around while he tells you to watch so you can learn something and mutters "fuck" for 2 hours.
@Zacbunchanumbrs@idobadtakes It wasn't. It just requires the test to actually measure job performance. It also has nothing to do with higher ed inflation- higher ed actually uses test performance to see lots of things.
@fmwx8bt5rbejy@vtallsomethings I'd say most American history courses give a pretty acceptable overview. It's part of the standard AP curriculum to teach about it's colonization.
@dog_domain@constans But the advantage of fast food and TV dinners are that they minimize the labor. TV dinners are a good that the consumer puts the work in for, and fast food, while still requiring labor, requires significantly less than a sit down resturaunt.
@nightIancer Even worse is "needs nuance, key teachers/editors were Byzantine Greeks in Italy" when the SENTENCE BEFORE says "refugees from Constantinople brought their knowledge of Greek with them to Italy.
@talionis_l@_funmachine A quick glance at the curriculum shows they discuss things like Texas hiding the emancipation of slaves to keep them imprisoned longer. Unless you don't consider that one of the bad parts.
@linkus15@Persichidna@ArthurCaliber@RaxRazing What they're saying is that Sokka isn't a real member of the Southern Water Tribe, because they don't have the same cultural heritage.
@RaxRazing I don't know how you can get the idea that it is just a learned process. Is everyone else just too stupid? Is being a nonbender the equivalent of a learning disability? Obviously they learned how to use their abilities from animals, but they had them. Always.
@hikari_no_yume@writerofscratch TBF it's just as likely that there's a legend of the piss and shit man in some obscure part of the Japanese countryside. That would still be a Japanese legend.
@Elywisteria The sun and moon concept was also not invented by them. The sun and moon have been in love or used as a metaphor for it in various religous or storytelling traditions hundreds or even thousands years old.
