HRF condemns Dutch immigration officers’ careless treatment on Thursday of prominent, award-winning Ugandan human rights activist Agather Atuhaire on Thursday at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport, as she returned from the 2026 #OsloFreedomForum in Oslo. The treatment Atuhaire received triggered serious traumatic mental distress from her well-known May 2025 illegal detention and torture in Tanzania.
I agree, Intern doctors should be ranked above DEI Pharma, Atiak Sugar, Lubowa, and Inspire Coffee – which have and continue to consume billions.
While those other are (unnecessary) promises for the future, intern doctors are presently real in the lives of ordinary Ugandans. As has been said plenty of times, it is not uncommon to find a public medical facility manned entirely by interns.
Their labor cannot to be for free. In fact, interns is the language of exploitation. These are actual doctors – only new in the field.
Thanks Dr Obuku (@ekwaroobuku)
I worked with @SueNsibirwa btn 2011-2019 as her supervisor when she headed our marketing function. Not once was she ever apprehended as a suspect in or charged with a criminal offense. In fact, she left two years before me with her record of high integrity & stellar performance. I am certain that her current employer would have done a due diligence before entrusting her with her present role. If what is being said about her now were true it would have come out long ago from more credible sources.
Some lives burn so brightly that their light continues to guide generations long after they are gone.
The Uganda Martyrs were young, yet their courage, faith, and conviction left a legacy that still speaks to us today. They chose principle over comfort and stood firm in what they believed, even at the ultimate cost.
As we Unite for Good across @rotaryd9213 , may their example challenge us to stand for our values, serve boldly where the need is greatest, and build a legacy that outlives us.
May their sacrifice inspire our service.
Happy Martyrs Day.

Three Years. Five Hundred and Fifty-Seven Walks.
Three years ago today, I started #WalkTalkConnect
At that time, I had finally gotten into the rhythm of regular exercise and I wanted to do more.
I spoke with @bheki_moyo and a few weeks later walked with @Akeda4 and shared an idea I had. They both said ‘Go for it’!
Joe went an extra mile and organized for me to be hosted on the @933kfm morning show to talk about what at that time, I called “Friday’s With Jackie”.
As the months went on, more people were signing up to walk, so it went from just Friday’s to nearly daily.
Today, 3 years down the road, I have done my 557th walk.
I have met complete strangers who became friends and reconnected with people I had not seen in years.
I have listened to stories that made me laugh, reflect, celebrate, and sometimes shed a tear.
And through it all, I have been reminded again and again that every person carries a story worth hearing.
I never imagined that something as simple as walking and talking could open the door to so much richness, generosity, wisdom, and human connection.
I feel truly blessed that something as simple as walking and talking with people, could lead me to interact with so many beautiful souls.
Thank you to all who have walked with me. Thank you to all who follow my walks and read my stories.
My heart is glad!!

Our priorities are upside down.
Hundreds of millions for MPs? No problem.
A modest allowance for intern doctors? Suddenly the coffers are empty.
Make it make sense.
Happy Anniversary to the King and Queen✨❤️✨
May your humility, love, & wisdom continue to touch everyone fortunate enough to know you. Thank you for being a beautiful example of partnership & kindness.
Wishing you many more years of happiness & blessings. We love you 🥂❤️🥃✨
A moral outrage. A national shame. This must stop. If politicians feel no embarrassment, citizens must demand change.
Not even the Prime Minister of Norway or the Chancellor of Germany receives such extravagant per diems , yet Norway is 70 times richer and Germany 30 times richer than Uganda. Both are donor countries to Uganda.
In Norway, the Prime Minister travels under the same rules as senior civil servants: modest meal allowances, hotels refunded on receipt, and about $63 a day in travel allowance.
In Germany, even the Chancellor travels under federal civil service rules: flights and security covered by the state, hotels reimbursed separately, and a modest daily allowance of under $80.
Uganda is poor. Our leaders should act like custodians of scarce public resources, not beneficiaries of excess.@AAgather
What a parting shot from the inimitable erudite Lord Justice Fredrick Egonda Ntende, the Chief Justice Uganda never had! All “chitijens”must listen. Justice must have compassion. Justice must have a soul!
