Andhra Pradesh is creating an extraordinary "Mini Amazon" artificial rainforest in its capital, Amaravati, to boost tourism and enhance local biodiversity. Developed across five acres in Sakhamuru Park with a budget of ₹18 crores, this lush ecosystem will utilize the Miyawaki method to densely plant over 20,000 saplings across 400 species in seven distinct layers. Designed to offer a truly immersive experience, the forest will feature continuous drizzles powered by rain guns, alongside artificial waterfalls, streams, and mist gardens that naturally cool the area by 3 to 4 degrees compared to the outside temperature.
