#falzapham (2/2) "“It is the poison’d cup: it is too late” (V.ii.235). and finally realizing that his own desires for revenge had cost him his life, and that if he were to forgive and move on he could have survived
#falzapham (1/2) During Hamlet and Laertes fight Leates and Claudius want for revenge and struggle for power end up having fatal endings. Laertes is kill by his own desire for revenge stating
#falzpham controversy over Ophelias death shows importance of dying nobly B/c so much shame is put on suicide but dying in battle or being murdered is somewhat celebrated the reader is able to see the little concern for mental health that can also be seen by hamlet going mad
#falzapham Claudius's plan to send Hamlet to England shows his thirst for power in Denmark. Even though he is already the king he see's Hamlet as a threat to his power, and is willing to kill him (just like he killed his brother) to grow his power.
#falzapham Hamlets inability to notice other characters feelings is highlighted by his treatment of Polonius's dead body. He isn't able to feel guilty for his actions, further showing his descent into madness due to his inability to show remorse.
#falzpham (2/2) Hamlet justifies his action "I took thee for thy better. Take thy fortune" (III.iv.39), showing showing his lack of regret for taking someones life.
#falzapham (1/2) Hamlets dedication to his fathers legacy causes the major issues throughout act 3. Hamlet believes that preserving his fathers legacy is so important that he kills polonius and finds no fault because all of his actions are on the behalf of his father constantly
#falzapham Hamlet flirts with the line of acting insane and actually being insane. By trying to act crazy he actually succumbs the crazy part of himself he is portraying, leaving the reader to question Hamlets actual mental state and deterioration
#falzchron7 Despite the author telling us Santiagos fate at the beginning of the novel the constant addition of new facts/viewpoints leaves the reader constantly intrigued/involved in the developing plot of the story b/c the structure finally gives exact details at the end
@agillespieBHS#falzchron7 The fate of the Vicario brothers also emphasizes the importance of honor in the town Despite the brothers killing Santiago the culture of the town emphasizes the importance of gender roles, and Santigo breaking those roles is viewed as acceptable to a certain degree
@storrens09#falzchron7 The idea of virginity and purity also show the emphasis of gender roles in the community Angelas character shows the double standards that women were forced to follow, and if they didn't there were very serious repercussions emphasizing the importance of gender roles
@rmcgriskin7 #falzchron7 In contrast the authors use of a very divided class system is what causes a lot of this guilt While the townspeople feel guilty it is understandable that they didnt speak up or try to stop because they are aware of their place in this class driven community
#falzchron7 The authors use of class illustrates what ultimately leads to Santiagos death b/c everyone is too afraid to stand up b/c he is viewed as more powerful This classist belief make the people of the town believe that Santiago is untouchable and doesnt need to be helped
@BiancaPinedaBHS#falzfrome7 I also believe that Ethans own guilt causes his idealized lens of his possible life with Mattie. After the accident his guilt manifests and he no longer sees the appeal or happiness that mattie once provided.
@zyunggg@storrens09#falzfrome7 I believe that the symbolic weather is used throughout multiple works and can be seen by the reader to connect all of the emotions and feelings of the character. Frome is a great example of this and shows the true feelings and emotions that ethan is feeling.
@storrens09#falzfrome7 I agree and i believe that most of the events that occur in the novel are due to Ethans tragic flaw of cowardice. He is too afraid of what people think and hurting others that he ends up hurting the people that he cares about the most.
@KatelinRomano#falzfrome7 I also think this is ironic due to typical gender roles ethan should b in control and be able to do whatever he wants compared to Zeena but he is inferior to his wife and ends up hurting people just to please Zeena when it would b expected that he would have control
@klazaar_#falzfrome7 I also believe that this adds to Ehtans fatal flaw b/c he is to afraid to stand up to people in order to protect their feelings, however he ends up hurts more people just because of his own selfish wants to not be hated by others (2/2)
@klazaar_#falzfrome7 I also believe that this adds to the guilt that ethan feels for the rest of his life. His cowardice cause Mattie to be crippled, leaving a lasting impression of ethan of the sacrifices others were willing to make, but he was too afraid to make himself (1/2)
