The beauty of using technology to enhance customer experience and maximize reliance of available features.
Great work @CarrefourKe for the new upgrade of the application.
Carrefour Kenya just quietly added one of the most useful AI features Iâve seen in local retail. You can now simply:
- Paste your shopping list
- Type your shopping list
- Or upload an image of your shopping list
And the app automatically finds the products and suggests items to add directly to your cart. Just like that.
Honestly, this is one of those examples of AI that might not make headlines but will save people real time.
Because Me personally?I don't enjoy searching for: âtomatoes, milk, tissue, cooking oil, bread, detergent, yoghurt, toothpaste, onionsâŠâ one item at a time.
Shopping online often feels like playing a scavenger hunt designed by someone who has never entered a supermarket.
This AI removes that friction. And thatâs where AI shines. Not necessarily in replacing peopleâŠbut in eliminating unnecessary work.
The most successful AI implementations wonât always be the flashy robots, viral videos, or futuristic demos.Theyâll be the features that quietly save you:
* 5 minutes
* 10 clicks
* 20 searches
* and a little bit of your sanity.
Whatâs interesting is that weâre increasingly seeing Kenyan businesses move from talking about AI to actually embedding it into customer experiences.
Thatâs the real shift.
The winners in the AI era may not be the companies building the biggest AI models. They may be the companies asking: âWhat annoying task can we remove for our customers?â
Because convenience scales. And consumers quickly become addicted to things that make life easier.
I suspect after using this feature once, manually searching for every item in your shopping list is going to feel a little bit like typing phone numbers from memory lmfaoo.
Technology is at its best when it becomes invisible.
You donât notice the AI. You just notice that shopping got quicker.
Have you tried it yet? I just added a list sent to me and BAM!

High Court Judge Lawrence Mugambi has, in a landmark ruling, affirmed that a mobile phone number constitutes a personâs digital identity, particularly in cases involving the resale or recycling of unused SIM cards. He held that unregulated SIM card recycling violates the right to privacy and can erase an individualâs digital footprint. However, the court declined to grant prisoners the right to possess mobile phones while in custody.

We have put in place robust measures to ensure a seamless transition of the National Police Service and the Kenya Prison Service from private health providers to the Public Officers Medical Scheme Fund administered by SHA.
The switch, scheduled for 1st April, will be of great benefit to our officers, improving their access to quality healthcare from the previous 800 hospitals to 6,000 public, private, and faith-based facilities across the country.
Received an update on NPS and KPSâs transition preparedness from SHA CEO Dr. Mercy Mwangangi and NPS Principal Administrative Secretary/Accounting Officer Bernice Sialaal.
Also present was the Director of Strategy Execution in the Office of the President, Brian Kiprono, among other officials.

In todayâs world, technology alone is not enoughâit must be guided by human thinking, judgment, and purpose.
As Kenya accelerates its digital transformation, the real value lies at the intersection of smart systems and deliberate decision-making. Screens, data, and tools are powerful, but impact only happens when people apply context, strategy, and responsibility behind the keyboard.
It is encouraging to see Kenyaâs adoption of technology taking shape not just in use, but in how it supports better planning, execution, and delivery of results for citizens.
The future belongs to those who combine tech + thought to produce meaningful outcomes.
We must not forget the cyber resilience towards the adoption route by stepping up the stakeholders towards this route.

Pleased to share that Kenya, together with Norway, the United States and the @IEA , will co-host the 2nd major Summit on Clean Cooking in Africa in Nairobi in 2026.
This Summit will accelerate efforts to bring clean cooking access to the 1 billion Africans who still lack it, building on the strong momentum of the 2024 Paris Summit, which mobilised over USD 2.2 billion in commitments.
Kenya continues to lead in advancing clean cooking solutions, with world-class companies providing affordable and efficient technologies. Hosting this Summit is an important step in strengthening that leadership and driving continent-wide progress.

The Ministry of Roads and Transport @TransportKE wishes to invite the public, stakeholders and partners to the launch of the construction and dualization of the RironiâNaivashaâGilgilâNakuruâMau Summit (A8) Highway and the RironiâMaai MahiuâNaivasha (A8 South) Road, to be presided over by H.E. President @WilliamsRuto on Friday, 28 November 2025.
The launch activities will be held at Kwa-Mbira, Gilgil, and Mau Summit, starting from 8:00 AM. This follows the successful conclusion of negotiations with CRBC and Shandong, who are the contractors to undertake the works following approvals from the relevant Government agencies.
The dualling of the Rironi â Mau Summit (A8) Road, part of the Northern Corridor, aims to reduce congestion, improve road safety, and facilitate the movement of goods and passengers between Nairobi, Nakuru, and Western Kenya, thereby enhancing regional trade and reinforcing Kenya's status as a key transit hub in East Africa.
