@robpgole@johnkonrad@_NavyBrat Regarding the security risk, Canada continues to have far lower rates of crime than the US. Also, nearly all gun crime in Canada is done with illegal US guns. Who has the risk?
@RodDMartin@AtRiskMedia The Canadian Forces deserve more respect than this. Don't forget the Canadian troops killed in Afghanistan in defense of the US.
@BBIC0N@marc11990311 I won't convince you of anything but in the end you the consumer pays the tariffs. It is a tax on you and reduces your choice as a consumer. Enjoy.
@BBIC0N@marc11990311 That has nothing to do with stagnation in the auto sector. The fact that manufacturing inputs such as steel are heavily tariffed does not exactly encourage domestic production.
@BBIC0N@marc11990311 History suggests differently. Do you think that US manufacturers would have innovated to modern standards without foreign competition? EU and Japanese manufacturers brought many innovations which the likes of Ford and GM had to keep up with.
@Markcbqi@Sportifffy@SenatorShaheen These quotas were built into USMCA which was agreed in Trump's last term. The US has similar protections on some agricultural products within USMCA.
