Wanted to replace previous hair made in vroid by custom modeled one.
Though I had some artistic block, so I commissioned some hairstyle ideas.
Shoutout to @Tawaki_inku for the design!
Had fun modeling it. Though still some details has to be improved, I think I am on good track.
Image and video to 3d animation and pose Blender plugin.
Working with inputs being both photo realistic or stylized artworks.
I created it for my internal purposes for quick pose drafts and animations based on existing videos and poses.
It expanded to something more than just tech demo and list of helpful scripts. Getting to size of full fledged plugin.
Not sure if there is a demand for such solution.
If there will be high engagement on this post, I'll assume y'all interested in it and opensource it.
Yes, it is!
Most of it is modeled and textured from scratch.
But not all of it to be completely honest.
Hairstyle from this exact video was created in Vroid Studio rather than blender.
And base model is heavily modified and rerigged to ARP an Daz3D anime base model.
But rest is done fully from scratch.
I did not want to use someone else work just to present how the tool works.
I underestimated hate for ai related topics on that blender subreddit, and misinterpreted the audience.
Though now I just switched to use hand drawn or royality free images for any future posts :/
I sent you a link to alpha version of the tool.

@Pepedesigner69 Plugin is ready!
Though it is still early version, not properly optimized and possibly buggy.
But all features should work.

@Pepedesigner69 Hey, hope I'll be able to do it before this weekend and post it on github.
For now I'm fixing bugs and optimizing it as because in current state plugin might be a little annoying to use.
Working on a full overhaul of my OC kemonomimi character for my Unity indie game
New formal outfit + improved details 360° view

@FGR_vr I think using vertex weights to drive the power of this effect and disabling gradually power of this effect for neck and end parts of the hair might help?
Grabbable stocking cloth physics shader written in unity

I have small input from my side, hope you don't mind it. I assume you don't want to overengineer your solution by going softbody approach.
From my experience, I only used Magicka Cloth2. It is easy to work with any stylized physics. It is not only for hair or cloth. It also have nice presets already built in to choose (for tails, skirts, hairs, springs, etc.)
A lot of models use two or more pectoral bones for each side instead of one to reduce effect of solid state. You might want download some of such models for research.
Unrelated to the topic, animation transitions from action to idle are to instant, you might want to extend these. Maybe have idle_battle animation for battle pose to make it less jarring.
@NapticStudio Nice, can you share your secret how did you achieve a good-looking cartoon effect in UE? This engine is notoriously hard for creating stylized lighting and effects.
