The simple explanation for Labor blowing itself up over Senator Payman is that people who think only in political terms cannot imagine that anyone ever acts purely in conscience; therefore, her action is only comprehensible to them as disloyalty - a political choice.
@jocaseau Is it complex? IMHO if you’re not prepared to have a disabled (or queer) kid you shouldn’t have kids. As no matter how they were conceived this is a possible outcome. It’s straight up ableism.
