Big day! We are incredibly excited to announce our $27M Series A led by @generalcatalyst with participation from @cascapital. Next up: rapidly scale our computational biomarker discovery platform to address unmet need across neurology, psychiatry, and sleep medicine.
🚨There is an escalating HIV outbreak among PWUD in #BosPoli#MApoli 🚨
@MassDPH & @HealthyBoston MUST respond to this crisis NOW:
•Release timely HIV testing, incident HIV case data & a clinical advisory
•Frequent & accessible HIV testing
•Expanded SSP
•Broad access to PReP
“We are calling for immediate safety measures, mass COVID-19 testing, and prompt access to medical care for sick detainees Reports of poor conditions inside detention facilities emphasize that further release is still necessary..These changes cannot wait.” https://t.co/AOQoZqNW86
@jflier How many people must explain why lamenting “anti-whiteness” is harmful and ignorant until you stop doubling down and publicly apologize? Grateful for my fellow @harvardmed students who thankfully make up the new face of medicine.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ANTI-WHITENESS 🙅🏽♀️ or reverse-racism.
Racism requires racial prejudice and POWER. In the white supremacist culture/nation we live in -> only white people have that POWER (institucional/structural/social power)
YIKES. This is the former Dean of HMS as of 2016. It is reckless and disappointing for someone with his following to spew white supremacy nonsense and devalue the experience of Black faculty and students so openly. @harvardmed how are you going to hold your faculty accountable?
@jflier Also a @harvardmed student. I’m disappointed to see this rhetoric from our former dean who has such a large following. Anti-whiteness is not being against white people. It’s about being against the systems the that create white privilege and allow for white supremacy to exist.
@jflier It’s about power structures, and is covered in the first few lectures of our social medicine course. Wish more of our @harvardmed faculty would share their thoughts on this post (like @drlouiseivers and @julialmarcus who already have)
@jflier As a @harvardmed student, I found this tweet from a former dean deeply disappointing - it espouses a harmful narrative that distracts from the anti-racism agenda we all, esp our institutions & leaders, must pursue relentlessly to begin to right historic wrongs
@TheJusticeDept and Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein: thanks for sharing your opinions about safe injection sites in the @nytimes. We prefer evidence. We will not be intimidated by your scare tactics. https://t.co/XqVzd1hqM0
As future healthcare professionals, we at SCA are thrilled to see the @MA_Senate stepping up to help us care for our patients where they need it, whether behind bars or at a safe injection facility. We're ready to work.
