One of the most amazing things I've seen a student create. One of our 10 year olds built this rubik's cube solving robot as part of our passion project unit. About 50 hours of 3D printing and a load of wiring and troubleshooting headaches later it does this:

@zugmissharris @SwissHill66 @sjosborne12@delucachristine And about teaching students to know what helps them to listen, since it might not be the same as what helps the person next to them. Fidget tools or drawing might help one and distract another; learning to recognise that in themselves is a huge step.
Why is teamwork important? Gr 5 hearing from a doctor and pharmaceutical scientist about how he uses teamwork in his current role as part of their PE inquiry into teams and cooperation. #iszl
So lucky to be working with risk-takers for #PYPx
Moving away from... static, pre-assigned mentors
Moving towards... a system where learners can connect with the right person, at the right time, for the right reason https://t.co/uu0spr0V9x #aismlearns and #aismtakesrisks
I love science. G5 exploring how to make a film canister rocket go higher- more chalk? More water? Smaller or bigger alkaseltzer pieces? Hot water? So many variables! Next week, inflating balloons with vinegar and baking soda … I wonder if their experience will help?
@DaveSecomb@karenalynn@sjosborne12 Loving the theory-building doing this with my class. One is -almost- there, can predict the patterns but doesn’t have the words to explain why. Many hypotheses of odd vs even numbers, which the ten and the five disprove. Many iterations and excellent conversations!
Senge: Our credibility and capability as educators is rooted in our ability to engage with what we teach. G5 team ‘doing the maths’ to check their own understanding, look for multiple entry points and consider what resources will be required @karenalynn@kmatthewsed@sjosborne12
Teaching at a distance is intense. My Friday night recovery is cats, wine, and rereading Feed by @seananmcguire / @miragrant because it could always be worse. There could be zombies.
