Day five of the trial against an Assad regime brigadier general, former head of Adra prison and former security committee member and governor of Deir Ezzour in Syria. He is being charged among other things with torture and Conspiracy to commit torture. I have received countless messages of Syrian families of victims and former victims thanking @syrianetf for ensuring the capture of this alleged war criminal and having him face a fair trial. #Syria #LosAngeles #Justice #Accountability
Day four of the Sameer Othman Al Sheikh trial! Very tough to listen to testimonies of innocent civilians horribly tortured in Adra Prison… the United States of America in conducting a fair trial and giving victims a chance to at least say their story is something to be applauded and gives me so much pride to be an American. #Syria @syrianetf
