I remember my pic being used for a grant. The org received $5mil. I didn't get a raise nor did my community receive more services. This happens all the time to BIPOC, they want our pics or a one liner,but not our input. REAL Inclusion matters!
While our solidarity with Black peoples should exist past one month, Black History month serves as an opportunity to get intentional and honest with ourselves about what our role (as non-Black people) is in Black liberation.

A reminder to professors; for the sake of meaningful dialogue - establish group norms and please give space for those who have differing opinions (especially from your own) so that students don’t have to sit through class being referred to as “those people”
Today was the first time in my entire graduate career, that I have felt uncomfortable to speak and reflect on my lived experience in class… let alone a class on social justice!
