You have ten minutes and no time to prepare. What subject could you confidently teach to a room full of people?

Not just WWoD, never got to watch Wild Kingdom. And it seems we walked in on Bonanza, as we headed to bed. Could be wrong. Didn’t miss a thing!

As a kid, we were always in church Sunday nights, so I could never watch The Wonderful World of Disney. When they aired, The Sound of Music, I planned my sickness well in advance. It worked!

Major League Baseball putting Phillies-Braves at 2 pm et for three straight days on Tuesday, Wednesday and potentially Thursday truly sucks for normal working people and kids at school. You root for a team for 162 days and can’t watch the entire playoff series? Unacceptable.

We did. Maybe even Jr. High. Vaguely remember something like that. I wonder where those guys and gals are now. Likely dead, but maybe they wised up.

😂 Wait… HIGH SCHOOLS HAD SMOKING AREAS?!

Apparently there was a time when schools basically said:

“You’re too young to vote. You’re too young to drink. But go ahead and light up behind the building before algebra.” 😂

And the craziest part? It wasn’t unusual. Some high schools really did have designated student smoking areas, particularly in the 1970s and 1980s.

Different generation. Different rules. Absolutely WILD looking back at it now. 😂

Who remembers having a smoking area at their high school? 🚬🏫

The woman with “steel balls”
Journalist Caroline Glick accused Britain, France and Canada of hypocrisy.
Israeli-American journalist and commentator Caroline Glick published an address to the governments of the United Kingdom, France and Canada.
Here is her statement in full:

“You sanctimonious, hypocritical cowards.
How dare you threaten the one Jewish state on earth — after everything your nations did to us!
You dare speak of ‘humanitarian values’ while standing on piles of Jewish bones your ancestors buried beneath cobblestones, cathedrals and the charters of ‘civilized’ nations?!

Britain.
Oh, Britain.
The empire that carved up the Middle East with a pencil and a gin-and-tonic.
You issued the Balfour Declaration and then slammed the door on Jewish refugees fleeing the Nazis.
You handed chunks of Jewish land to Arab monarchs and let Jews die in the Holocaust rather than let them enter your precious Mandate.
You interned Holocaust survivors in Cyprus as if they were criminals.
And now you’re wagging your colonial finger at Jews for building homes on our ancestral hills?
Shove your royal hypocrisy back into Buckingham Palace and deal with your own collapsing society — where knife crime, antisemitism and Islamic extremism are more common than fish and chips.

France.
Liberté, égalité, fraternité — unless you’re a Jew.
You deported more than 75,000 Jews to their deaths during the Holocaust with the full cooperation of the Vichy regime. You let them be shoved into cattle cars from the Vél d’Hiv while Parisians watched.
And after the war?
No justice.
No reckoning.
Just decades of indifference and empty words.
Today Jews are stabbed in the streets of France, synagogues are under military guard, and you still have the gall to lecture us about morality?
You couldn’t protect your own republic from a van full of jihadists, but now you want to dictate to Israel how it should defend itself against genocidal terrorists?
You are morally bankrupt and culturally collapsing.

Canada.
Oh Canada — America’s cold, smug, spineless cousin.
Your ‘moral high ground’ is a snow-covered hill of lies.
You locked Jewish refugees out during the Holocaust.
The ship St. Louis begged for your mercy.
You sent them back — to die.
‘None is too many,’ your officials said.
That is your legacy.
Today your politicians pose for photo-ops in mosques that glorify martyrs while condemning Israel for fighting murderers.
You have turned your universities into Hamas fan clubs and your parliament into a virtue circus.
You abandoned the Jews when we were stateless, and now you want to punish us for defending our state?!

Here is our answer.
We are not the stateless Jews of 1942.
We are the sovereign people of Israel — armed, aware and unapologetic.
Your sanctions are a joke.
Your threats are meaningless.
Your moral lectures are garbage.
We do not need your permission to live.
We do not need your approval to fight.
We are not going anywhere.”

LARRY’S LOSERS:

Does anyone on this app remember “Leonard’s Losers”? It was an autumn football tradition in the South. From 1958 until his retirement in 1994, Leonard Postero had a radio segment where he picked the loser of that week’s slate of college football games. He was witty, fun, and wrong a lot, but that didn’t matter because you loved it.
It is in that tradition that I will occasionally pick the week’s losers. We discuss a lot of heavy stuff here, but every now and then you’ve got to do something fun, and I love college football. So, let’s make some predictions, shall we?

OLE MISS @ FLORIDA: Ole Miss is coming off a huge emotional win over Lane Kiffin’s Bayou Boys. But now they have to go to the Swamp in Gainesville. Early indications are that UF has the right coach in Jon Sumrall, but Ole Miss has the QB in Trinidad Chambliss. Larry’s Loser: Florida.

UT-A @ UT: In the battle of the UTs, Texas rolls into Knoxville as the No. 1 team in the land. I’m of the view that Texas is overrated and so is their QB. Will either achieve gridiron greatness? Maybe. But they haven’t yet. Texas isn’t used to this kind of raucous environment, but it’s a noon kickoff, not a night game. Moreover, the Vols’ QB is an inexperienced freshman. Both will matter. Larry’s Loser: Tennessee.

OU @ UGA: The John Mateer experiment might be coming to an end as OU struggles to generate any offense against mediocre teams. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs from Athens appear to be a juggernaut. But who have they played? Look for the Sooners to play with pride, but Georgia to win at home. Larry’s Loser: OU.

SOUTH CAROLINA @ ALABAMA: Expectations for USC QB LaNorris Sellers have not been met so far this year. Meanwhile, Alabama QB Keelon Russell looks like a future superstar. If this game plays out like Bama’s three previous contests, they’ll piss around for three quarters and score 50 in the fourth. Larry’s Loser: USC.

IOWA @ MICHIGAN: This game is getting no oxygen, but it has the potential to be the best game of the day. Michigan is struggling offensively, and Iowa has an offense for the first time since the Civil War. Look for a tight game, but with Michigan at home and the refs on the payroll, Iowa has no chance. Larry’s Loser: Iowa.

TEXAS A&M @ LSU: This is a must-win game for both teams. A second consecutive conference loss would be catastrophic to any title hopes. A night game in Baton Rouge is a huge advantage to the Bayou Bengals. LSU wins by 10+ and Aggie fans turn on their coach. Larry’s Loser: Texas A&M.

OREGON @ USC: Both teams are a mystery. Oregon lost early to a heavy underdog. The Trojans are 4-0, but they’ve struggled against high school teams and they have no home-field advantage. Dan Lanning’s boys cruise to victory with Phil Knight’s money. Larry’s Loser: USC.

I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Alabama currently leads the SEC and ranks eighth nationally in punting, with Alex Asparuhov averaging 48.6 yards per punt.

It's time to "Name That Alabama Quarterback"

This QB played at the Capstone from 1998 to 2002 and famously shared the backfield in a quarterback competition with Andrew Zow.

Born and raised in Pelham, he was the No. 1 QB in the state of Alabama in the 1998 recruiting class. He was a dual-threat signal-caller renowned for his tough running style, leadership, and decision-making on the field.

Can you name him?

So I lease a new car every three years (yeah, I know) and I always pick a different make and model. Honestly, that’s half the fun of leasing.

Except Tesla’s Full Self-Driving has gotten so good that, for the first time, I decided to trade my Model Y for… another Model Y.

ONE PROBLEM:

THEY’RE SOLD OUT.

Not just the Model Y. $TSLA has sold out of every model they make.

My lease is up next month, and I genuinely have no idea WTF I’m going to do.

So much for all those protests outside Tesla dealerships. Seems like the Cancel @elonmusk campaign just ain’t working.

(Apparently I can lease a “pre-certified” used Model S or X, though… 🤔)

So, the lumberyard was delivering the material for our deck this morning when the lift ran out of fuel. He called the store and the yard manager brought a yellow can of diesel fuel and got the lift going again. Only the yellow can had gasoline in it Instead of diesel. Oops. They called a technician who had to come from Terre Haute to drain the gasoline and change the filters. It worked! They were able to get the lift moved!
