Credible allegations of physical or sexual violence against women, with independent corroboration, can’t be ignored — whether it's a Democrat or Republican, a private citizen or a senior leader, like the President of the United States.

Mr. Platner has denied the allegations, and he has the right to defend himself -- but at a certain point every leader has to decide what’s best for the people he hopes to represent.

Wishing all the dads and stepdads out there a happy Father’s Day. This is the first Father’s Day since my dad died, so here’s a little bit about my dad Curt who we lost back in January.

There is no single person in my life who taught me more about integrity and decency than my dad. And no one who shaped me more as a person.

In a complicated world, my dad had four, uncomplicated loves: Family. Friends. Farm. Food. And the absolute peak of his happiness was when his four loves were together at the same time: grilling a great piece of meat for his family and friends at the farm. 

One of the great lessons I take from his life is to find your three or four loves and focus on them consistently and intensely. Do that and your life will be well-lived.

I miss him deeply and will be thinking of him throughout the day. If you, like me, have lost a father, I know today can be difficult. I am thinking of you as well.

His ability to make audiences laugh while being the target of the joke earned him the nickname “Mr. Warmth.”
The National Comedy Center is the home of Rickles’ career archive and celebrates his lasting contributions to the art form within its interactive museum experience in Jamestown, NY.
