Serious concern: Excavation/digging work is reportedly being carried out at night during the monsoon near Devipada Metro Station on the Western Express Highway, Borivali (E). The site appears to have inadequate warning signs, safety measures and public protection arrangements.
Who has authorized night-time excavation at such a sensitive location? If any accident, injury, road collapse, damage to underground utilities or threat to public safety occurs, who will take responsibility?
I request @MumbaiPolice@AddlCPNorthMum@DcpZone12Mumbai to immediately verify permissions, inspect the site and take appropriate action if safety norms, traffic regulations or public safety requirements are being violated.

Deep excavation near Devipada Metro Station during peak monsoon raises serious concerns regarding soil stability, metro pillar safety and protection of underground utility pipelines. Any negligence at such a sensitive location can result in infrastructure damage, road collapse, flooding or loss of human life.
Immediate site inspection, stoppage of work and action against the contractor are necessary. Authorities must act before an accident occurs, not after.

Why has @TataPower@TATAPower_Mum failed to comply with the Mumbai Fire Brigade’s direction dated 05.06.2026 ordering immediate disconnection of power supply to Annex Mall, Borivali (E), for non-compliance of Fire Act notices? The Fire Brigade itself records that despite repeated notices and even after a major fire incident, electricity remained connected.
If a statutory order issued under the provisions of the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act was served and acknowledged, on what legal basis was power not disconnected? Was public safety ignored? Who is accountable for exposing citizens, shopkeepers and visitors to continued fire risk?
We demand transparency from @TataPower and concerned authorities:
Date-wise action taken report.
Reasons for non-compliance of Fire Brigade directions.
Name and designation of officers responsible.
Whether any internal inquiry has been initiated.
Public safety cannot be compromised. Compliance with Fire Safety laws is not optional.

If Annex Mall’s fire fighting system was fully functional and certified as “OK” in Form-B dated 18.01.2026, then why did Mumbai Fire Brigade subsequently direct disconnection of electricity, declaring the building unsafe from a fire safety point of view after a major fire incident?
How was a Fire NOC granted to commercial establishments operating in the premises despite serious fire safety violations and non-compliance notices? The public deserves answers. Fix accountability for any false certification, negligence, or misrepresentation under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2006. @mybmc @MumbaiFireBrig @MumbaiPolice@mybmcWardRC@DcpZone12Mumbai #FireSafety #AnnexMall #Borivali #Mumbai #Accountability

Serious concern at Devipada Metro Station, Borivali (E), where deep excavation/digging work is reportedly continuing during the monsoon season. Such excavation in the vicinity of critical metro infrastructure raises concerns regarding soil stability, public safety and potential impact on nearby structures.
If any damage occurs to metro pillars, adjoining infrastructure, public property, or if any major accident takes place causing injury or loss of life, who will be held responsible?
I request @mybmc@MMRDAOfficial to immediately inspect the site, verify all permissions, structural safety reports and monsoon safety compliance measures, and stop the work forthwith if found unsafe or in violation of applicable norms. Appropriate legal action should also be initiated against the contractor and responsible officials in case of any negligence, safety lapse or unauthorized excavation.
Public safety cannot be compromised during the monsoon.

Serious public safety and accountability concerns regarding the unusually long Foot Over Bridge (FOB) connected to the Metro Station near Poisar, Kandivali East on the Western Express Highway.
What was the technical necessity for constructing such an excessively long steel FOB over a high-speed national corridor?
Was any independent Road Safety Audit conducted before approval and execution?
Was a public consultation or traffic impact assessment carried out?
What is the total project cost and whether value-for-money principles were followed?
Has @MMRDAOfficial@MMRDA_TWEET MMRDA considered the risk of pedestrians avoiding this lengthy FOB and attempting dangerous road crossings, thereby increasing the possibility of fatal accidents on WEH?
What alternative designs were evaluated and why were they rejected?
Kindly disclose the DPR, structural design approvals, safety audit reports and expenditure details in public interest.
Public funds cannot be spent without transparency, necessity and safety justification. Any infrastructure project which indirectly encourages unsafe pedestrian behaviour can become a future accident hotspot.
I request the Hon’ble Chief Minister and Chairman, MMRDA to order an independent technical inquiry, road safety audit and financial review of this project and place the findings in the public domain. Responsibility must be fixed if there has been any wasteful expenditure, improper planning or compromise with public safety.

@mybmc@mybmcWardRC@MTPHereToHelp Why is the huge LED display at Sky City Mall, Borivali East, operating at high brightness late at night (around 11:11 PM on 02.06.2026)?
Has the Licence Department, R/C Ward verified compliance with permitted operating hours, brightness limits, public nuisance norms and licence conditions?
If any violation exists, what action has been taken? If no violation exists, kindly disclose the approval, licence conditions and inspection reports. @PiyushGoyal@SanjayRupadhyay@miprakashsurve Silence from the concerned department raises serious questions regarding enforcement and transparency. @Petition_Group@mid_waytimes

Shocking visuals from Borivali Annex Mall fire raise serious questions on public safety, illegal storage, fire compliance and negligence.
If eyewitness accounts about cylinders, combustible materials and operational restaurants inside the premises are true, then immediate criminal investigation is required.
Why did the authorities fail to prevent such a dangerous situation before a major tragedy occurred?
How were health trade licences, fire NOC and operational permissions granted or renewed?
Who conducted inspections and whether mandatory fire safety norms were actually verified?
Demanding immediate action from:
@mybmc
Mumbai Fire Brigade
@MumbaiPolice
Register FIR against responsible restaurant owners, occupiers and all concerned officials if negligence, illegal storage or violation of fire safety norms is found.
Strict inquiry must also be conducted against concerned BMC Health Department and Fire Department officers who cleared or ignored violations.
Public safety cannot be compromised until lives are lost.
A high-level fire safety audit of all malls, restaurants and commercial establishments in Mumbai must be conducted immediately.

Smoke billows out of Annex Mall, Borivali East. This fire was completely avoidable! Complained months ago to BMC R/Central Ward officers regarding massive violations & illegal gas cylinder use inside the 1st-floor restaurant. Zero action taken. Who takes responsibility now? @mybmc@mybmcWardRC@MumbaiPolice #Borivali
“Times of India report dated 11/05/2026 has raised serious concerns regarding uncontrolled advertisement policies, light pollution and public safety. Authorities must act before another tragedy like the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse shocks Mumbai again.
The two massive hoardings installed on the FOB/bridge structure at BKC Kala Nagar Junction, Bandra East, Mumbai 400051, as visible in the GPS-tagged images, appear to raise serious questions regarding structural safety, permissions, traffic distraction and compliance with railway/MMRDA/BMC norms.
I urge @mybmc@MMRDAOfficial@MumbaiPolice@MTPHereToHelp@CMOMaharashtra@mybmcWardHE@richapintoi and @Zoho@ZohoERP concerned departments to immediately inspect and remove these alleged illegal hoardings if found unauthorized, and register appropriate legal action against all responsible persons, agencies and beneficiary companies involved in permitting or displaying such risky structures over public roads before any major accident occurs.”
