17yo indie hacker shipping 1 TOOL EVERY WEEK with Cursor π
Balancing high school & building Webapps/Chrome Extensions with a $0 budget. #BUILDINPUBLIC
I am 17, still in school, and I have one goal: Launching my own software business the day I turn 18.Starting today, I am on a 9-month challenge to build tools with a β¬0 budget. But I am not starting from scratch. Here is my story so far. π (1/4)
For me, itβs locking in a 1-hour deep work block every afternoon after school before opening X or checking emails. Protects the flow state at all costs!
The hardest part of the #buildinpublic journey isn't coding, it's staying consistent.
Whatβs the ONE routine or habit that has had the biggest impact on your productivity this month? β¬οΈ
@robwalling Analysis paralysis is the silent killer of early-stage startups. Making a 70% decision today beats waiting 3 weeks for a 90% decision every single time.
@buildinpublic Polishing the core features of my SaaS using Cursor and dialing in the onboarding flow. Focus this week is pure UX and getting ready for launch!
@jackfriks Focusing on ONE main project instead of chasing 10 new ideas every week is the hardest part of being a builder, but this growth curve proves why it pays off!
@levelsio Consistency in distribution is so underrated. Most founders stop talking about their product after week 2, right before the momentum actually hits!
Google review approved! Tool #2 is officially "Ready to Publish"
A 100% local, privacy-first screen-time tracker & domain blocker built with React, Vite, TS & Chart.js.
Hitting the launch button tomorrow afternoon!

@tibo_maker Love seeing real data instead of just opinions. Spending $12k for immediate trial spikes and massive brand visibility might actually pay off long-term.
@jonathan_wilke Yes, full title gives much better context at a glance. Increases click-through rates for bidders, which makes bidding even more valuable!
@hshipit Exactly! Nothing worse than debugging a missing comma or misspelled key in manifest.json for 20 minutes straight. AI takes that cognitive load away completely. π―
How AI handles the boring part of Chrome Extension dev
Spent 3 minutes letting Cursor audit the manifest, inject store-ready 16/48/128px PNG assets and compile a clean dist/ production build for Tool #2.
No manual file dragging, no missed manifest parameters, no broken icon links.
The current stack for this 52-week challenge:
- React + Vite + TypeScript
- Tailwind CSS + Chart.js
- Cursor AI
- 100% https://t.co/YVnciWa5Rz.local (Zero Cloud)
Next step: Wait for Chrome to review and approve the tool!
