Hello friends. Recently got laid off because of what looks like a reorg. I'm currently open to Remote Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer roles (been doing it going on 10 years now). Please send blessings and any leads my way. ๐
English is my first language, I speak decent French, and very bad Spanish. But by far the hardest language to learn is Toddler.
2yo points to book shelf: Ri dis one

If my company ever makes me return to office I will simply remember that golden kiwis are in season, and walk around handing them to people, while confidently gnawing on my own kiwi collection, skin and all, like an absolute terror
2yo caught me talking to myself, and asked me:
"Daddy, are you talking to angels?"
and I...guess I am? Sure kiddo, just talking to angels over here. ๐
@KateRoseBee Guessing a lot of us delayed having children because it took longer to get established, plus less social pressure to have kids young, so it allowed us to work on ourselves and be able to hold space for kids. As my 2yo screams "ABCDEFG Now I know my ABCs" for the 50th time
@AdamCSharp Doesn't fit the model you give exactly, but a French expression for some who is very self-important: pรฉter plus haut que son cul. Literally: to fart higher than one's ass.
@EmmaBostian Yep. Everything feels like it was built yesterday to be torn down tomorrow, streets are huuuge, nobody actually knows how to drive properly on the highways, etc etc. Reverse culture shock is rough, wish everyone could experience it and gain some perspective to be honest.
