Funny my mom had a very similar experience when my mom picked up her new Tesla model Y at the Aurora delivery center.
They told my mom to go outside and inspect the car. The car had water marks and dirt all over, and a small scratch in the paint. They did a 5 minute touch up for the scratch and said all was good. Only after we said we wanted another vehicle did Tesla tell my mom they'd give her a $250 shop credit if she accepted her new car with the scratch. After signing the papers we got in the car but couldn't figure out how to turn the hazard lights off or leave because no one had bothered to show us how the car worked. Finally we dragged a sales rep out who helped my mom get the car setup so she could leave. This was only after the Littleton Colorado Tesla sales rep told her she would get a $1k referral credit while he helped her purchase the car a few days before. Upon pickup they told her it was not correct, and she and I would get a $0 referral. Great vehicle but the sale and service was very disheartening as a TSLA stockholder and Tesla owner since 2018.
