Amazing time at @igc2024dub ! ☘️
What a great experience it was to present a paper about the youth in Mayotte, in the panel of @krgeography. Thank you Kathy Reilly, Tracey Skelton and @IGU_online_ for this opportunity and your confidence !
A very big moment for @igc2024dub. Tomorrow at our Opening Ceremony the @IGU_Online_ will present Planet and Humanity Award to Sir David Attenborough, who has for decades highlighted the changing relationship between society and environment - core theme uniting all geographers.
University of Galway academics Dr Kathy Reilly, Geography and Dr Conn Holohan, Creative Technologies, have both been awarded an ENLIGHT Impact Award at the ENLIGHT Impact Awards Ceremony at the University of the Basque Country in Bilbao, Spain.
The awards are bestowed as part of the ENLIGHT University Alliance, of which University of Galway is a partner of along with nine other universities across Europe. They recognise and give visibility to research endeavours at ENLIGHT universities that are exemplars in planning for and achieving impact.
A total of six awards were presented across six flagship domains: health and well-being; digital revolution and digitization; climate change; energy and circular economy; equity; and culture & creativity.
Congratulations to both Dr. Conn Holohan, ‘Immersive Empathy: Co-Creating Immersive Narratives on Home and Homelessness’ under the flagship of Culture & Creativity, and to Dr. Kathy Reilly, ‘CCC-CATAPULT: Challenging the Climate Crisis: Children’s Agency to Tackle Policy Underpinned by Learning for Transformation’ under the flagship of Climate Change.
