Ripple's trust bank approval mostly changes who examines the reserves. Under a federal charter, the question shifts from "is the issuer compliant" to what the examiner sees in custody, segregation and redemption. That's the diligence list for anyone building payments on RLUSD.
So proud to see our team heading to Dubai Future Finance Week. Come say hi to Nataly and the Medici Expert crew, we'd love to talk fintech and crypto regulation π§‘
From November 2β6, the Medici Expert team will be in Dubai for Dubai Future Finance Week, a major gathering bringing together global leaders across finance, FinTech, investment, regulation, and digital assets.
Find our team there:
Nataly Medici β CEO & Managing Partner
@krisredin β COO & Partner
We'll be there to exchange insights, discuss new opportunities, and explore potential partnerships.
If you'll be in Dubai, let's talk!
Two governments now claim the same 61,896 BTC, so the fight is about asset recovery law and mutual legal assistance, not crypto.
Victim restitution would run through UK proceedings first, and custody records and source-of-funds files decide who gets paid.
A founder once told me the compliance officer role was "basically a title for the org chart." Then the regulator asked to speak with that person directly.
Names on paper are the easy part. Someone has to actually own the decisions, and be able to explain them out loud.
Revolut's Gibraltar licence is a good reminder that a licence covers a defined set of activities, not a general permission slip. Substance requirements and local tax treatment decide how far it travels.
Most of the work starts after approval: banking and bookkeeping.
@lookonchain Tokenized equity perps on a DEX with max leverage and no KYC. Nobody on the other side of that trade is asking which regime a TSLA perp falls under
Banks entering crypto custody find the hard part isn't the vault, it's the licensing map. Every Asian market treats custody differently, so each launch is its own regulatory conversation.
The UAE has dedicated frameworks for it, so the sequencing question is simpler.
@lookonchain Tron's revenue is mostly USDT transfer fees. That makes it a payments rail first, and stablecoin payment rules follow the flows, not the token.
Asset management had a strong H1 at ADGM: more managers, more funds and new firms, many with global assets, choosing Abu Dhabi as their base. Watch the full interview with Hamad.
Proud of our team for showing up in Singapore and sharing the room with such a strong group. Thank you Dubai Blockchain Center and Huawei for having us π
During @token2049 week in Singapore, we attended The Dubai AI & Web3 Sovereign Conclave, hosted by Dubai Blockchain Center and @Huawei.
A big thank you to Dubai Blockchain Center and Huawei for the invitation and for bringing together such a strong group of industry leaders!
The discussions focused on two key themes: regulatory governance for institutional Web3 adoption and the practical applications of Agentic AI in blockchain ecosystems.
The speaker lineup brought together leaders from across the industry, including Dr Marwan Alzarouni CEO Dubai Blockchain Center, Paul Boots of @varadubai, Michael Chan CEO @Zand and Andres Kim of @tether.
Great to be part of the conversation in Singapore. See you in Dubai!
Scrapping the $10k private wallet rule doesn't touch Travel Rule or sanctions screening, which still run on each firm's own license terms.
Teams that delayed wallet-verification tooling just lost their excuse, and the books still need to trace every transfer.
@WuBlockchain A listed treasury company carving out room for M&A and income securities is where the accounting questions start. Fair value swings on the Bitcoin side hit the audit first.
Landed for @token2049 βοΈ The @Medici_Expert crew is here, with a packed schedule of meetings
At these events it's a few panels and a lot of hallway talk about licensing π€
Around and want to talk VARA, DIFC, ADGM or compliance? Come say hi β

@WuBlockchain@hosseeb@Bankless Unlock schedules look like a pure market issue until you ask who holds the tokens. Vesting terms and investor lockups also shape how a project is classified and what it must disclose.
@WuBlockchain@HesterPeirce@scottmelker Privacy as a default sounds great from a podium. Every licensed firm still carries travel rule and KYC obligations, so the privacy tooling that survives ships with an audit trail.
Most compliance gaps I see don't show up in the license application. They show up six months later, when finance tries to reconcile client wallets against the books and nobody can say which entity holds the assets.
@Medici_Expert@ksubabochkina@squidrouter So proud of Nataly and Ksenia for carrying our flag in Korea. Great to see our team at the SQUID launch celebration π
