A key skill of emotional intelligence is being slow to take offense and quick to take feedback.
People are rarely criticizing you. They're critiquing a snapshot of your words or actions.
They won't see the full you. You can still learn from their reactions to that image of you.
This Basecamp thing comes at a moment when people across industries are saying they *want* to be able to talk about what's happening in the world, at work. That it's too hard to pretend the world around us doesn't exist. For people from underrepresented groups, maybe impossible.
