Every recent visit to BevMo they've tried to cheat me. For example, they will have a bottle on sale. You take one, it ends up being triple the sale price. WTF? "Oh, the sale is for the 750 ml, but you took the 1 L size". Tricks like this, with plausible deniability. EVERY TIME.
Gemini must be a money maker for @GoogleCloud. To disable this useless crap from G Drive and Gmail Workspace, you must upgrade to the Enterprise edition! Seriously considering upgrading.
@waitbutwhy It's likely but not a given. The planet has to be close enough to us so that our sun is the brightest star in the direction of the planet's axis. Our sun is brighter than average, and there are probably more planets than stars, but no guarantee we are someone's true north.
@tylercowen In general, tipping results in a dynamic wage where servers are naturally incentivized to come in during the busiest times, naturally solving a restaurant management problem.
Maybe tipping is not to induce "good service," but rather to give servers the incentive to get customers out the door and turn the table over (to get more tips).
It always seemed crazy that the gov would be entitled to search your phone & laptop without a warrant any time you took a trip abroad. Glad this is gone.
