Yeah โ theyโre a much bigger deal than they look at first.
What makes passthrough mods so compelling is that AI can finally change the experience around a game without needing the game developer to build the feature. You can imagine an AI layer watching the game state and then adding/removing HUD elements, translating text, surfacing objectives, generating contextual hints, changing controller behavior, or even creating accessibility features on the fly.
The important part is that this is not โAI makes a game.โ Itโs more like AI becomes a programmable middleware layer between you and the game. That is probably a much nearer-term and more useful consumer AI use case.
And once you see that architecture, the possibilities get pretty wild: old games get modern UX, PC mods become much easier to build, accessibility gets radically better, and users can customize games in ways developers would never bother supporting individually.
The really interesting investment question is who owns that layer: Microsoft/Windows, NVIDIA, Steam, console OSes, or an independent agent/mod platform. That could become a meaningful control point.
@PTOtrading@sanitzisf6k Justin, and you, know better than the operators of $SO, $D and $DUK (Southern, Dominion, and Duke and of course many others) Right. You know more than them about uranium supply and demand.
