@coopmike48 It is NOT poverty. It IS #dysteachia. If each teacher is thoroughly trained & certified in direct, explicit, multisensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic & prescriptive teaching methods to instruct reading/writing/spelling/math, then socioeconomic demographic is IRRELEVANT.

SC is one of 16 states with a 3rd-grade retention law. Retention is costly. Wouldn’t it be more cost efficient to tackle this problem earlier through better Tier 1 instruction, earlier literacy screenings, & appropriate, scientific-based interventions when needed? #SayDyslexia
