My view for the day from NYC. Great training day with @UpperlineCode in the office of @GiantMachines. I’m so excited to be teaching programming this summer!
Wooooow… all of the goals and visions I have set for myself are finally coming together. I continue to be patient, but my focus is on another level. 2022 is seriously my year. #imsoreadyforthis
GatsbyConf is coming up March 2nd and 3rd. Registration is free. I open the show on the 2nd at 8:30am Pacific. There will surely be plenty of Gatsbsy stuff, but I'll be doing a new talk on just generally how good the web has gotten.

My student could not recall anything he had learned up to that point in class. 4hr tutoring sessions and some additional resources later, he created a simple Super Smash Bros webpage from scratch. If you make the lesson enjoyable, they will learn it.
Just received another update on a high school student who passed their coding exams! This student failed the first time after the school taught coding via https://t.co/vEzPnC2bEi but was testing them using a Microsoft certification exam 🤯
Today, she reached out to me to thank me for helping her in August, but since then, she has launched three websites! This right here... is why I teach, and these testimonies provide the fuel I need to push forward with my small business. I’m so inspired to push forward.
The moment when you have found your purpose, you will physically feel it in your body... literally. Everytime a past student shares a small win during their coding journey, I feel energized and pumped to continue to give back to the world.
In August 2021, I taught a student on how to set up a WordPreas environment locally, provided a workflow from design to testing, and walked her through the process of deploying her project (even how to work with GoDaddy customer service reps how troubleshooting issues).
You don’t need permission to call yourself a software developer. You can safely remove the “future” and “aspiring” qualifiers. Do the thing (write the code) and say it with your chest. Start building confidence in yourself early in your journey.
