Agree, Ben - and on the other side of the transaction, the interviewee should always use that open-ended last question as an opportunity to recap or add one more insight.
Tip for journalists: It's a truly inane question, but ALWAYS ask if there's anything else that's noteworthy about a person/topic/issue at the end of an interview. I can't tell you how many times it's led to something that unexpectedly became the focus of a story.
This surprises me: According to @markjburns88 & @saleyley in @MorningConsult, 46% of podcast listeners said they prefer consuming them w/video, vs. 42% (like me) who would rather listen only. Good read on new pod trends: https://t.co/7tHWyphKeg
Strong message from @CollSportsErik as CoSIDA rebrands to @CollSportsComm: "Comms increasingly serves as a mission-critical function. If comms is not positioned & supported this way on campuses, in conference offices & at national levels, it should be." https://t.co/vvtRT9uLjQ
Another fun year w/@DallasSports MicDrop Dallas pod. Memorable quote from @EdWerder_ESPN on 12/1:"I donโt really try to be a personality on TV. I want my information to be the star.I want what I report to be memorable, not the way I said it. Thatโs what really matters to me.โ
This clip should be required viewing for any assistant coach or staffer in any sport about to interview for the big job. @Coach_Walters of @BoilerFootball knew his audience and prepared to win.
Adapting a famous quote from legendary TV producer Don Ohlmeyer to helping you get ready for your next interview or presentation: "The answer to all your questions is preparation." Find an easy prep roadmap here: https://t.co/F0KzXTc5GF #mediatraining
.@RickieFowler is among the most thoughtful interviews in sports. Turns out he prepares. In his media avail today @PGAChampionship said, "There's probably not any questions that would be asked in here that I haven't thought of or gone over on my own."
Helpful tips from @washingtonpost on how to write an op-ed, including: make "a clear argument about a topic...in the news"..."make sure it is easy to...understand. Ask yourself: What is the two- or three-sentence takeaway from this piece?" https://t.co/GRayNpHXW7
A privilege to participate - and so fun to join these gifted storytellers in exploring the lighter side of the presidency. Thank to @WhiteHouseHstry for including me.
Excellent example of using a (powerful) story to make your point persuasive & memorable. PS:in a 2009 #mediatraining session in Cincy, Whit asked about displaying leadership thru his interviews.Think heโs gotten the hang of it.Congrats on #NFL Payton Award to Whit & @mrs_whit77
