The US incarceration rate is higher than in Cuba. Our prisons enslave minorities for investor profit. Our life expectancy/literacy rates are both lower than in Cuba.

This week is the anniversary of the Kanesatake Resistance (aka the Oka Crisis) in Canada, where a luxury golf course was planned on Mohawk land. Armed resistance and barricades held off the armed police for 78 days, and ultimately the development was canceled.
