I am very happy today for this ad to start to run on TV across America. I urge all Americans to learn from my experience and to, please, wear a mask and stay safe.
It’s devastating to see Congregation Beth Aaron in flames — and yet, what a miracle that the Torah scrolls weren’t damaged and thank God no one was hurt.
To my friend @NYSenatorFelder, his family and the entire Boro Park community: your city will be with you as you rebuild.
If poker is a sport (and why not?$ we have another frum athlete on our hands. Congrats to Gershon “Jets613” Distenfeld on making the final table at the 2020 WSOP main event @GDistenfeld
BREAKING: McConnell says that after the electoral college voted yesterday: "Our country has officially a president-elect and a vice-president elect."
"I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden," McConnell says.
Actually it is Torah learning which ultimately protects the State of Israel. Haredim certainly do their part and then some. But it is understandable why those with different values would beg to differ.
@elizimm Haredim don't love their fellow Jews—they exploit them. Haredim rely on non-haredim for financial subsidies, health care, agriculture, and defense. Haredim bleed the country dry and give little back. Its very hard for us to love people who are always stealing from us.
@Shmarya Not understanding what you are even asking? You are asking that since there is a Halacha that we violate Shabbos for Sakanos Nefashos or stop learning for Sakanos Nefashos therefore all the Yungerleit in Eretz Yisroel are sinning?
@Shmarya My point was that the idea that Haredim are not contributing is false. Their Torah learning is crucial. Who knows how much safer we would be if more secular Israeli's learned and were shomer shabbos. We need an army. But we also equally if not more, need Torah learning.
“For security reasons, I really feel strongly that we should get them vaccinated as soon as we possibly can,” Dr. Fauci tells ABC about Biden and Harris. “You want him fully protected as he enters into the presidency in January. So that would be my strong recommendation.”
@Shmarya Right but that doesn't take away from the enormous zechuyos that the Kollelim and Yeshivos provide. Don't forget that Torah tourism from all the seminaries and yeshivos also helps the economy...
Aqibha is right: The tragedy here was that this pashkevil accuracy was even a debate, given signatories’ views on vaccination. The other tragedy is what Blimi alludes to: The strength of Orthodox cancel culture, in which trolls obsessively ambush community members who speak up.
Struck by fact that for 6 weeks now @realDonaldTrump and 100+ Republican members of Congress have been talking about a hack that never happened - of the vote. Total silence on the one that did happen: Russian hackers inside the Fed. govt.'s own agencies. https://t.co/yQywoSUIHp
