Another week, another @wickedgame Animation 🗡️
This time, a good old greatsword smash on the ground!
👉 Tip: Even with classic attacks, there’s always a way to make them feel unique and stand out.

🚨DON'T STOP ANIMATING 🚨
It’s just like building muscle - take too much time off, and you’ll start to lose that progress. Consistency is growth 🪴
This tip comes from our podcast with @ferhra (Senior Animator at Wētā FX)!

I'm sorry but yet another thing that I loved about this demo was this particular scene. The animation, while still 3d, takes on aspects of 2d animation with multiple moments where it is animated on twos instead of being interpolated on ones, giving it that 2d animated look.
As someone who made this fox model, it feels surreal to see the fox animated in a very fluid and unique way. Words cannot really describe how incredible this is.
alternating hit animations to vary it up if she gets hit multiple times in quick succession.
It also has a bit more "oomf" and has a bit more character to it, Nel kinda rolls into the hit to catch herself better from the recoil. A "takes a hit but won't go down" kinda vibe.
The old one might still have some use here and there as an individual hit pose for blowbacks and such.

Here are the animations from February's pose cycle challenge. We got even more entries than last month so thanks to everyone that's joined me on this again! You all have so many good ideas!

Having fun testing Unreal VFX positioning on the Animate Montage window, only using flipbooks and a sword slash mesh as a base. (I'm not going to add Particle emitters, yet). ⚔️
