@StrengthDebates What im not saying what they are doing is right, but i just did my research to find out why is she actually doing this before i formed my opinion. She seems pretty jacked so that is what peaked my interest. She obviously has been training in some capacity, but it is very risky
@StrengthDebates Below parallel squats, would I have her do that probably not, if I did she definitely would be wearing a belt, but there is probably some type of method to the madness, we all know those high level athletes are always doing some out of the box training to get an extra edge
A reality of being an S&C coach or a personal trainer is that at some stage in your career, you’ll have someone cry during a session. Not because of anything you’ve done (well, I hope not anyway 😂), but just because of life.
If it hasn’t happened to you yet, it will.
Said it once, I’ll say it again
Amazes me how many athletes/parents STILL don’t get it
You must train in-season
It’s not an exaggeration… you HAVE to
You’re wasting time training for a couple months, losing all progress & repeating that same cycle year after year
Make time.
@mboyle1959 Yes! Hiring a drill sergeant for a 5am workout will not make your team mentally tougher. It just gives them memories. Like u said, it's the little things, and being consistent with those little things is mental toughness
The players aren't even moving in sync. Thought this was about discipline and doing things uniform?
Let's ignore ^ this ^ and the fact that football players are not military operators - and lets focus in on the fact that this SEAL hell week style of training is NOT how they train once they have been selected.
It is used to weed out those who do not want to actually be there.
Now maybe that is what is happening with this - but doing so in June before camp in August - doubtful.
Going through one difficult training session will not make the players stand on the goal line - put their hands in the huddle - and then say "hey fellas - remember when we did that seal training in June - we got this - lets go score a TD"
Now, I have been wrong before and will be wrong again - but this seems like a massive waste of time and funds - especially when support staff can train the players hard AND are underpaid.
How does admin allow things like this? S&C coaches ALWAYS have to be aware of the transition periods - did this seal training happen right after May break? If so - seems like a TON of volume after a short amount of time.....
Going through one event is not as hard as going through an entire off-season or year and doing ALL the little things right. Anyone can suck it up and get one training session done. Who can show up for the long haul.
Focus on things like quality training:
Sprint
Jump
Throw
Push
Pull
Hinge
Carry
Crawl
Not this. Athletes deserve better.

HOLY SHIT THIS WOLVERINE FAN FILM ! 👀🔥😮🙌Goderoy Ryckewaert and his team continue to be absolute masters of indie stunt filmmaking, there is NO fucking excuse for comic book movies to not have this level of action and visceral excitement with hundreds of millions of dollars !
You don’t really need a sprint coach, but you really need to run timed sprints.
If you have a speed coach and they’re not timing they’re just working on making your running prettier.
There’s pretty and there’s fast.
Fast is not always pretty.
Pretty is not always fast.
