@jimjim033 2000 is an odd starting point, other than you can say "this century". But the sport changed pretty fundamentally in 1998, so that's actually a perfect year to start an exercise like this
Besides, is "Since 2000" any worse than 1891 victories over Ann Arbor YMCA or Pioneer HS?
@RandyVonStrangl@Metaleka_ Desmond is trolling a rival. Weddle was stating what he believed to be truth, about his former coach and mentor. Can you seriously not see the difference?
@Metaleka_@MrOH1O That's irrelevant in the BCS-era CFB. OSU played for four national championships in 22 years in non-Rose Bowl games. All four years they'd have played in Rose Bowl in pre-BCS. Actually five natty appearances, but one of those they played a playoff game in the Rose Bowl
@Michigander1212 Except we are not talking about a team that went 10-2... We are talking about over 100 years of history for all of these schools. If any logic is dumb and/or flawed, it's yours bub
@12_beersdeep@Metaleka_ I think Bo's a better WR, Marshall better around the goal line, and both lack true explosiveness. Hiter probably better than both, though
@Metaleka_@Buckeye_GDG Indiana was the losingest program in CFB... HISTORY... until last year, and then won the natty.
The schedule makes OSU's path more difficult. But I don't think the roster is clearly better or clearly worse
@Metaleka_@Buckeye_GDG It was an equally crazy take to say OSU would lose 14 guys to the NFL - and then maybe be better (like last season). The defense was absolutely better. In the day and age of the portal and NIL, you can say whatever you want.
@_OSUDUDE And 19 Day 2 picks (although half of those were 3rd rounders). I'd have to check to be certain, but my guess is OSU has more draft picks and first rounders since he started than any team except Georgia and maybe Bama
@MattHayesCFB That's exactly right. The team with 5 1st rounders and (likely) 4 top-10 picks lost a game
Were favored in both games, too. The Brady-Belichick Pats went undefeated for nearly 15 years. oh wait, nope they lost a few along the way.
Upsets happen in sports. Your tweet is moronic
@Joeyrandomguy@MiamiCanes1971@DylanEveryday You're right - SEC fans do not consume alcohol or pre-game tailgate LOL
It's absurd OSU gets no night games. Not only does it minimize the team's on-field HF advantage, it also hurts West Coast recruiting
@CFBwSam Losing to a 9-1 team in cold, sideways rain with your best player hurt (albeit Sparty played a backup QB) is not a choke job. It was a dud performance but it wasn't 2024 Michigan.
@Metaleka_@michiganjunke69@BuckeyeNatty I disagree. You lost one game in football, in sideways rain, to a 9-1 team - like OSU did in 2015 - and you didn't even qualify for the playoff. I'd argue Georgia was the best team in 2023 and got left out after losing the SEC Champ Game. Now its EASIER in football
@bluecrue_MI Its a dumb argument since they actually crossed the threshold this past season with the ridiculous vacated wins from 2010, but OSU could be lining up this Nov against Michigan, in Columbus, with their 1000th victory on the line. Pretty cool
@AugustWest1967@CFBGuy999 Ohio State has more sports than any D-I school and is the largest TV brand in CFB.
But the point remains - ND fans are whack. Stanford, Cal, Northwestern, Duke, UCLA, Vandy, and Michigan all higher-rated academically
@CFBwSam Indiana had a better one? Or maybe just one that was more in alignment? The HC-OC-DC have been together for years, while OSU had a new DC and an OC that was the best position coach in CFB but a new coordinator. That matters. No NFL team is hiring Haines or Shanahan to be HC
