I held a call with @delcyrodriguezv following the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.

I conveyed the EU's full solidarity with the Venezuelan people and our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones.

The EU has already mobilised €5 million in emergency assistance for affected communities.

We have activated the European Civil Protection Mechanism, with several Member States rapidly deploying search and rescue teams, firefighters and medical personnel.

The EU’s Copernicus satellite system is supporting emergency responders by helping to map the damage and target assistance where it is needed most.

Europe stands with Venezuela in this hour of need.

Afghanistan is experiencing one of the largest population movements in the world today.

6 million people of Afghan origins have been forced to return from neighbouring countries since 2023, often under difficult circumstances. In 2025 alone, more than 2.6 million people returned, with continued arrivals in 2026 placing increasing pressure on fragile communities.

At border points and in communities of return, the Afghan Red Crescent Society - @ARCSAfghanistan , with support from the @IFRC, is providing life-saving assistance, from food, clean water and health services to longer-term support that helps families begin to rebuild.
