Looking forward to a fruitful weekend in Paris as we embark on a series of strategic engagements aimed at deepening the Kenya-France relations and the launch of an #AfricaForward follow up mechanism. From Nairobi to Paris, our focus remains clear: transforming strategic dialogue into tangible investments for sustainable growth and youth opportunity across our continent.
To kickstart the day, I visited Kenya Mission this morning and interacted with our team led by ambassador Betty Cherwon and Deputy ambassador Luseneka. @ForeignOfficeKE
I was delighted to support my dearest brother and friend @AlikoDangote at the Nairobi Stock Exchange on the cross-listing of the $1.6 billion IPO of the Dangote Refineries. Congratulations Aliko! From Nigeria to the world! 🇳🇬🌍
Underrated life advice: Keep proof that good things happen to you. Old photos. Kind messages. Positive feedback. Notes from great days. Whatever. Store them in a single place. Call it a Rainy Day Folder. Pop it open on a bad day and watch your mood turn. It's a free reset button.
There’s nothing more frustrating than realizing where you’d be today if you’d just stopped overthinking and taken action. Don’t let your future self feel that frustration. That thing you want to do? Go do it.
Enough money to pay the bills. A body healthy enough to move. A few close friends. A family that loves you. At some point, you realize this is the richest you'll ever be.
One day, you'll understand why God placed you in a profession that wasn't even on your list. It was never as random as you thought; it was all part of His purpose.
I’m convinced that your energy creates your reality. Give your energy to stress, complaints, and negative people, they will grow. Give your energy to ambitions, gratitude, and positive people, they will grow. Your energy becomes your destiny. Choose wisely.
Kenya recently co-founded- with the EU, Canada, India, Brazil, Australia and Barbados- the Partnership for Multilateralism (P4M) launched during #UNGA81. The P4M Declaration is clear that while the UN has achieved a great deal over the last 80 years, it must reform now in order to “respond to a world that is more interconnected and complex, more contested and more multipolar,” as well as address our “shared global challenges, including the triple planetary crisis of climate emergency, biodiversity loss and pollution as well as the rapid development of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence.” We look forward to working with all P4M founding members and subscribers as well as all interested actors to advance the intentions of this platform. @ForeignOfficeKE@EUinKenya@AusHCKenya@IndiainKenya@KenyaInCanada@barbadosinkenya
The older I get, the more I realize you can get pretty damn far in life by just doing what most people avoid. Wake up early. Focus deeply. Move your body. Eat real foods. Obsess over one thing. Have difficult conversations. Slow down. Be present. It’s the recipe for a good life.
If someone drains you, leave. If you have to edit your thoughts. Filter your words. Hide your success. Swallow your anger. Avoid certain topics. Leave. If someone makes you feel smaller, confused, more careful about every little thing, it means you do not feel psychologically safe around them. They do not belong in your life. Leave.
Underrated life advice: Become difficult to rush. The world will pressure you to rush into everything. Rushed decisions. Rushed relationships. Rushed conversations. Rushed timelines. There's power in rejecting that trend. Pause. Slow down. Create space to think clearly.
When choosing people to work and associate with, do not be mesmerized by their reputation or taken in by the surface image they try to project.
Instead, train yourself to look deep within them, to their past actions, to see their character.
The only parenting advice I find useful: You can't teach your kids anything. You just have to embody the things you want them to learn. Make a list of the traits and values you want your kids to have. Then make sure you're living by them every single day. That's really it.
The older I get, the more I love feeling like a work in progress. Resist the urge to look polished for the world. You don’t need to pretend you have it all figured out. Nobody does. Embrace your unfinished form. Just commit to getting a better each day and trust where it leads.
I’m convinced adaptability is the highest form of intelligence. Knowledge matters, but the ability to unlearn and change course is rare. The most impressive people I know change their minds often in response to new information. The goal isn't to be right. It's to find the truth.
The heart is a muscle. You must make it strong.
Strong, not hard and brittle.
Strong enough to love everything and everyone in all situations.
Strong enough to not break along with the world.
I’m convinced that reliability is the most underrated trait in life. You’ll achieve much more by being consistently reliable than by being occasionally extraordinary. Show up. Do the work. Repeat. The recipe for success in every single area of life.
”Africa is not merely a victim of climate change. We are a source of solutions." At #CCDAXIV, AfDB's James Kinyangi noted Africa holds 60% of the world's solar potential, and that the Bank's Climate Action Window has mobilized $450.9M for 37 low-income countries.
