In so many places, esp non English Speaking parts of the world, we keep cutting our bureaus and coverage. I rarely see value adding on US politics by Australian media “on the ground” there.

@LauraRbnsn I agree the risk is so small compared to other dangers but I’ve also wondered, well are those abduction figures so much lower, BECAUSE people don’t let their kids have more freedom to be alone outside the house? I need to find some much older stats to compare it with.

@yassmin_a Also I read a study about it once and it’s not the sweat word that affects kids it’s the time you do it in. Joyous and fun swearing is A O K

@yassmin_a I am known amongst the children I know as a sweater. Toddlers are a bit different as they copy you, but I told my daughter she can swear when she is a teenager, and she never swore when she was young (she had something to look forward to?? ) .. I also love swearing x

@samthielman @tressiemcphd Who is even getting married during covid? My sister in Australia was due to marry in November, we were booked and excited but OF COURSE, they cancelled it. They eloped, sent us photos, and no, it wasn’t the same or as good. But no one died, that’s the point.

@MatthewBevan We did do the tooth fairy though until the night my daughter lost a tooth and intentionally put it under a pillow without telling me and then challenged me the next day when there was no money left. She experimented on me. A proud parenting moment really
