@SelenaC10705@sfbg is regurgitating thin yes on G propaganda. The route north/south past GGP is still open and the GH extension is closed. The only diff Sunset Dunes makes is that a small number drivers must cut east/west a bit earlier at Lincoln or Sloat. B/c of that we lose our park? 🤮
@LarryQ6 Larry I’m curious do you live in the outer sunset or do you just see us as a backwater that should be re-paved over to create a bypass road to nowhere out of spite?
@nucl3ar0ption@SelenaC10705 Sunset Dunes makes the coast more accessible to people with all types of mobility situations and removes 0 parking. How would people with mobility issues be better able to use the beach with a highway running beside it?
@LarryQ6@MHurabiell Larry, you’re more than welcome to join us at the park, which includes *all* lanes of the former great highway from Sloat to Lincoln—not 1 path—and brings more balance between our needs for community space and roads. The park is awesome, traffic’s fine, don’t send us backwards!
@MHurabiell@LarryQ6 Thank you for caring but I assure you, as someone raising a family in the outer sunset, I am still able to get around in the car for school drop off and appointments at all times of day.
@LarryQ6 What they must go through every day? Seeing light traffic on their street? I’m sure they are doing okay. That said, I’m all for finding ways to reduce congestion. Adding lanes/roads doesn’t decrease congestion, as you will see by making the short trip outside of San Francisco.
Around 9am the other day coming out of the park south on 41st. A little backup about 1 block heading north from Irving toward Lincoln. As someone who has done some of the worse commutes in the Bay Area and this is a nothing burger.
