I need every presidential hopeful to stop campaigning and figure out how to get the precious children in these camps safe, fed, and back in their parents arms. Stop giving interviews and start saving children. Stop talking about leading and LEAD.
Best way to aggregate Tweets, #CWCon? I want to grab all the stuff from #h9 so I can take notes. Not collecting tweets for research, just to get the ideas copied down. Anyone have advice?
@kyronae@voleuseCK@marlowjm I miss tools like Storify for helping with this: curated collections of tweets used to be a really good way of offering recaps and collections of ideas after everything was over. I know I still like to read blog recaps on conferences. I think tweets could function sinilarly
You know who was SO WRONGED who we don’t talk about enough? Dr. Jocelyn Elders. She was the first black surgeon general of the United States and second woman and she was forced to resign because she said masturbation was “part of human sexuality, and perhaps should be taught.”
Technology will always serve discriminatory and oppressive ends so long as we live within the limits of the white supremacist imagination (@hypervisible#cwcon)
@WilkesLydia@Sparbtastic@vymanivannan@voleuseCK Yes - I had wanted to bring this back to the talk @vymanivannan gave earlier in the day about pain/burnout/physical and emotional fatigue and the “soldier on”.Tweeting is such hard work, and as with most labor the distribution can be unfair
@marlowjm@Sparbtastic@vymanivannan@voleuseCK I intended to mention this but didn't: I was pretty burnt out last year and took some sessions off. Seeing other people tweeting made me feel less...guilty?...about not tweeting. That was the initial exigence of my talk when we arranged the round table last year. Time off = good.
The unbanked are an untapped market and entities like Facebook are looking to capitalize on that. It's not about empowering minorities. #chrisgilliard#cwcon
How do we articulate the value of listening to student voices and studying student experiences (to iterate design for our courses, programs) to our other stakeholders: departments, admins, funders, etc.? (@crmcardle#cwcon#f5)
I am the moderator of TechRhet, fyi. It's a place to discuss computers and writing, widely defined in a welcoming forum. #CWcon#Troublemakers are welcome, but nonsense is not tolerated. https://t.co/mPRvHZCpWK
