20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

Dear Secretary Bessent @SecScottBessent,
My name is Everett Stern. In 2010 I was a compliance officer at @HSBC. From a back office in New Castle, Delaware, I watched billions of dollars move to drug cartels, sanctioned regimes, and terrorist organizations. The enemies of the United States. I documented it, I escalated it, and when the bank would not act, I took it to the @FBI, the @CIA, and eventually the @SECGov.
The result was a $1.92 billion settlement. At the time, it was one of the largest in American history. It was also about five weeks of the bank’s profit. Not one banker was charged. Not one went to prison.
I paid a different price. I lost my career, my savings, and my place in the industry I had trained for. I was blacklisted. Every door in American finance closed at once. I slept on a camping cot in a 300 square foot apartment because I could not afford a bed, and I waited tables at @PFChangs to eat. I tell you this not for sympathy, but so you understand that I know exactly what it costs to do the right thing in American finance, and exactly how little the system does in return.
I made that sacrifice because I believed it would change something.
Yesterday, your department fined @BankofAmerica $1.2 billion for failing to report more than $5 billion in suspicious transactions, some of it tied by your own findings to Chinese laundering networks, narcotics, and the southwest border, alongside 475 apparent sanctions violations touching Russia, Iran, and global terrorism. The bank admitted it willfully violated the Bank Secrecy Act.
Fourteen years after HSBC. A bank with “America” in its name. And once again, not one individual charged.
Secretary Bessent, I want to say plainly what I believe you already know. The fines are not working.
A fine is paid by shareholders, absorbed by the balance sheet, and forgotten by the next earnings call. Bank of America reported earnings this morning. Nobody who set the alert thresholds, nobody who decided the 2024 cease and desist could wait, nobody who chose the backlog over the law will lose a single thing they value. Their lives are untouched. That is the entire reason the behavior repeats.
This is money laundering. This is blood money. Money that reaches a cartel buys fentanyl that kills Americans. Money that reaches a terrorist organization buys the next attack. This country has fought a war on drugs and a war on terror for decades, at enormous cost in lives and treasure, and all the while we have allowed the financing to flow through institutions we charter and regulate. Cut off the money and we win. We have never seriously tried.
There is also a question of equal justice that I cannot let go.
Before I walked into the FBI building to report HSBC, I stopped in front of the Great Seal on the wall and read the words engraved beneath it: “Justice is the defense of our liberty.” I believed that. I still want to. But every day in this country, people go to prison for crimes that are nothing next to moving money for the people who want Americans dead. A suit, a title, and a corporate badge should not be a shield from the consequences that apply to everyone else. If a street dealer goes to prison for what he sells, the banker who moved the cartel’s money should be standing next to him.
I also want to raise something that is rarely said in these conversations. Why has no one inside Bank of America come forward the way I did? The answer is that everyone in American banking knows what happened to me, and to the whistleblowers who came after. The last person who spoke up is the only policy anyone believes. That is a culture problem, and it starts with leadership, in the banks and in the agencies that regulate them.
This is not a political issue. It has spanned administrations of both parties. It is a national security issue, and I am asking you to treat it as one.
Three things would change the math overnight.
Refer individuals for criminal prosecution. Not the analyst in the queue. The executives who set the thresholds and chose the risk. One banker in handcuffs would do more than every fine in Treasury’s history combined.
End “too big to jail.” An institution cannot be too big to fail and too big to jail at the same time. If it is the first, it must be held to a higher standard, not a lower one.
And if Bank of America will not act as America’s bank, review its charter. A national charter is a privilege granted on behalf of the American people. It should be conditioned on not moving money for the people trying to kill them.
Secretary Bessent, you said yesterday that these actions send a clear message that even the biggest institutions are not above the law. With respect, the institution was never the problem. The people inside it are above the law, and they know it. Until that changes, I will keep writing letters like this one, and the next bank will keep paying the next fine.
I gave up everything I had to stop this. I am asking you to use the power you have to finish it.
Respectfully,
Everett A. Stern

I was born in 1990 in Papua New Guinea, 15 years after independence.
Growing up I heard the same thing from my parents and older people: the country was better under colonial rule. Australia handed us independence before we even discovered most of the mines and resources we have now.
I’ve watched the same pattern across Africa and other developing countries. External problems exist, but we have destroyed our own nations. Period.
I will never buy the “white man bad” bullshit. I have eyes, ears, and a brain. I’m 36. I’ve lived long enough to know the difference between real causes and convenient excuses.
I refuse to be a victim of anything except my own decisions.
🚨BREAKING:Sources tell Fox that federal agents raided about 22 businesses across Minneapolis this morning, many of them tied to Somali-owned operations. One of those search warrants is being served at the“Quality Learning Center,”which went viral after a sign outside misspelled.
It's well known that I supported @JohnCornyn in the primary. I will vote for @KenPaxtonTX in the 2026 general election and encourage others to do likewise. #txsen
If a convicted murderer survives an execution,
we rush to save his life.
If a baby survives an attempted abortion,
we debate whether that life deserves saving.
When mercy is automatic for the murderer
but controversial for the innocent,
something in our moral compass has gone terribly wrong.
@ElectionsAB
If you can’t attest to the citizenship of people mailing in ballots you can’t count them.
If this is true you just screwed up a 134,000,000 process.
If this is true you all need to be fired.
Where do you land?
Fatigued from waiting for The Plan to be done, the revaluation, the arrests.
Or…
Encouraged by the steps President Trump, Secretaries Rubio, Bessent, Hegseth, Wright, and others have made.
If you measure The Plan’s progress by YOUR expectations, by YOUR list of what should have happened - you are destined for disappointment, frustration, or anger.
PolitiFact’s MAGA-Meter (tracking ~75 promises).
41% are in the works as of recent updates
20% of promises have been kept
29% are stalled
4-5% broken
If you are in the “fatigued” camp you are blinding yourself from seeing the markers of progress, from realising the obstacles, and from evaluating each small win.
Conquering what is causing the fatigue will make this waiting game more tolerable.
People who feel and see movement on the promises accept that even though they have not FULLY materialised, it’s the forward movement that assures them.
How are you measuring progress?
A. The process doesn’t matter as you expect us to be at the finish line. For you, it is taking too long.
B. This Spiritual War is proceeding according to God’s plan and timing. Each small win gets us closer to restoring our great nation.
Are you whining about promises made and not kept?
Are you angry that prices haven’t come down?
Are you one who took “no new wars” literally?
Are you waiting for dividend, DOGE, or tariff checks?
Are you fixated on more Epstein file disclosures or angry that there are no arrests?
Take off your bias blinders. They prevent you from seeing what has been done, and evaluating the progress based on realistic factors that are in play.
President Trump…On election night in 2024, said "I'm not going to start a war, I'm going to stop wars.”
If you say Iran actions was a “new war” please do some research. Most see him as finishing a 47 year threat to our national security.
Prices are higher. Living, housing, gas fall between “broken” and “stagnated”. In reality, the game isn’t over. Too early to call.
If you took Trump literally that he would end the Ukraine-Russia conflict in 24 hours, then you don’t know how Trump operates.
Those who have taken him literally are being childlike. A la MTG. America First never meant ignoring issues that originate outside the USA but still are a threat.
It means putting US needs as the TOP priority above other countries.
It means tackling those issues directly so they are no longer interfering with our goals and safety.
Tariff dividend checks, DOGE dividends, or other cash payments ($2,000 / $5,000 figures floated) are sitting between stagnation and yet to be realized.
Be upset with Congress, not Trump.
An assumption that the Epstein files would lead to major figures arrested was never based on facts or promises.
Full release of the Epstein files has not been achieved. Nor will it. Nor should they.
Epstein was guilty of far more than child trafficking.
I appreciate your thoughtful response. I disagree on where this all lands. In terms of campaign promises, don’t make them if you don’t believe they are doable. All politicians seem to do this. Be realistic. Our country is in very serious trouble. It is NOT all trumps fault. It has been decades of disastrous decisions. But if we don’t fix it and trump is the president to do it, we will continue to spiral in the wrong direction.
Congress went from dysfunctional to broken over the past 100 years.
They pass laws. BUT abdicated responsibility to write them.
Delegated the writing of laws to the UNELECTED in agencies and regulatory groups.
1932 - FCC wrote the laws
Obamacare - pass the bill then you can read it. Every politician who voted for it should be embarrassed for not doing their job.
Disability Act - had to be defined by judges.
Endangered Species Act expired 1999. Congress still funding it.
Other Sunset clauses expired. Congress keeps funding.
Power of the purse?
Oversight hasn’t done their job for decades.
2017 budget gave $267 Million to unauthorised (expired) funding.
Every problem we are encountering is due to Congress’s dereliction of duty.
