The collective failure of the police, the intelligence and the administration led to the fiasco in Karur which led to the loss of 40 lives.

While the state police administration should have been focusing on intelligence gathering, law and order and regular police work, they were focusing on whom should not come as Head of Police Force. While officers are available to head the force, the coterie was spending its energy on sabotaging the DGP selection. Ultimately, the casualty is regular police work and it reflected in Karur.

It is a shame that the top police brass is shifting the blame for the deaths entirely on Vijay and his party by mentioning the increase of crowd beyond the announced 10K, not sticking to the schedule etc., and thus they are shirking away their responsibility.

As LoP EPS has pointed out, a thorough probe into the AirShow fiasco which resulted in the death of 5 innocent people was never conducted. And they are conveniently fixing the office bearers of TVK as responsible.

While the police top brass provided just 500 manpower to police the crowd, they sent 2000 personnel after the tragedy happened.

The charge of conspiracy by TVK cannot be brushed aside. A thorough and deeper probe into the whole incident is need of the hour.
