Hindu man, who murdered Muslim woman during Ramadan, received hero’s welcome after bail

Maganoo Singh, one of the 19 accused in the lynching of Muslim woman Roshan Khatoon while she was fasting in Ramadan, received a hero’s welcome after getting bail.

Villagers of Bihar’s Madhubani and his family chanted “Maganoo Singh Zindabad”, applied colours and garlanded him with fireworks.

On 28th February, Roshan Khatoon approached the village head seeking help over a local dispute.

But Singh, who is also the village head’s son, and his accomplices mercilessly beat her, tied her to a pole and continued the assault.

A seriously injured Khatoon, when she pleaded for water, was forced to drink urine mixed with alcohol.
