BREAKING: Somalia has officially entered a phase of civil war.

Former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire has accused President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of directing more than 20 hours of sustained military operations against opposition leaders, including former President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, traditional elders, and political figures in Mogadishu.

Khaire alleges that heavy weapons, drones, and other military assets have been deployed in densely populated areas, while civilian infrastructure has been affected as fighting continues to spread across the capital.

The statement marks one of the strongest accusations yet from a senior opposition leader and underscores the rapid deterioration of both the security and political situation in Mogadishu.

🚨 BREAKING: Senior U.S. Diplomatic Delegation Visits the Republic of Somaliland

President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Cirro) today received a senior U.S. diplomatic delegation led by Acting Deputy Ambassador Justin Davis at the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Somaliland in Hargeisa.

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the Republic of Somaliland and the United States in areas including regional security, Red Sea maritime security, intelligence sharing, investment, economic development, democratic governance, infrastructure, energy, and trade.

President Cirro welcomed the growing engagement between the United States and the Republic of Somaliland, expressing appreciation for the increasing attention Somaliland is receiving in Washington.

Acting Deputy Ambassador Justin Davis commended the Republic of Somaliland for its peace, stability, and democratic achievements, while reaffirming U.S. interest in expanding cooperation across security, defense, maritime affairs, investment, mining, energy, and economic development.

The visit underscores the deepening relationship between the United States and the Republic of Somaliland and reflects Somaliland’s growing strategic importance in the Horn of Africa and along the Red Sea corridor.
