Today, hundreds of homeless count volunteers are outside and in shelters doing surveys with people. We started early, at 6am!
If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness, to complete a phone survey, call 211. Your voice matters! @CityofVancouver@_HSABC
Just VOTED!! No line ups at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House. 🙂
Working for the City of Vancouver this past year, I realized more than ever how much every City Counsellor counts.
And I actually really like this voting tool! https://t.co/ISbIyzkwJQ
Do you have clothes to donate? I am spreading the word for Evelyne Saller Centre in the DTES! Donate adult pants, shirts, coats, socks, and footwear. Questions? 604 665-3075 https://t.co/5MmYWzPmHD

Sock drive time! Over and over I hear from homelessness services, shelters and drop-ins that they need new socks and underwear. It is so important.
Let's help Carnegie Community Centre gather 5,000 pairs of socks! #giveback#socksforall#healthyfeet@CityofVancouver
⚠ The hot weather warning has been upgraded to an extreme heat alert. We have extended our cooling centre hours in the DTES and opened wading pools at Grey’s and Woodland parks. Tips on how to stay safe https://t.co/wJrurk0G13
With the outpouring of support, @Tkemlups have put out a list of concrete ways to help.
Here is the memorial in Vancouver for the 215 children whose remains were found in an unmarked grave at the Kamloops Indian Residential School.
Many have asked how they can support Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc as we begin the process of honouring the lost loved ones who are in our caretaking. Here are some suggestions: https://t.co/CKnMd6bfft
To my digital facilitation, engagement, communication, admin and research people!! @_HSABC is hiring a webinar host/social media content creator, and an admin/researcher. If you have worked with people experiencing homelessness (or not), check it out.

To quote the @Binners_Project , “This simple act acknowledges the contribution that binners make to communities, supports their economic stability, and adds dignity to their work.”
If you would like one, here it is on the Binners website. https://t.co/dulWXiFmry
Our Binners’ Hook is up!
I appreciate the hard work of those who bin in our community, making a living and diverting from the landfill.
If you haven’t heard of a Binners Hook, it is for hanging bottles, cans, and other objects of value in bags for easy and safe pick-ups.
Vaccines have arrived in the DTES.
My team at @Binners_Project made about 50 phone calls this morning to get people into lines at the 4 drop in sites today.
It doesn’t feel like an exaggeration to say that this is one of the most important things we’ve done in the past year.
What a beautiful news piece!! Well told. My good friend Myriam wrote a graphic novel about her (in)fertility experiences. It is honest and powerful to read. @cataloguebaby@ChrisStache
"The reality that so many women face is that pregnancy is never an assured thing." A Vancouver woman has created a graphic novel called "Catalogue Baby" to break the silence of what she calls taboos surrounding the world of conception.

I am back facilitating for @_HSABC ! Hosting a provincial webinar on the Suicide Prevention Checklist with 117 shelters joining us.
It is always so good to hear Peter Fedos teach. It is a hard topic, but he is relatable, gracious and compassionate.
Join me as I host a conversation with Myriam Steinberg and artist Christache about the graphic novel @cataloguebaby on Feb 24.
It will be an honest conversation (prepare for laughter and tears!) about (in)fertility and being a single mother by choice.

9 1/2 weeks til the launch party for #cataloguebabynovel! I'm so excited to share this important graphic #memoir about #miscarriage + #infertility with the whole wide world! Thanks to @jewishbookfest for hosting the event. Feels like it's coming out at the exact right time!
Join me on Feb 24 for a @jewishbookfest conversation with oral storyteller Naomi Pommier, author of Goosefeather:Once Upon a Cartographic Adventure.
We will experience the world without leaving our living rooms as Naomi reflects on her 382-day journey. https://t.co/Ls1yU4SIgl
This video makes me proud.
It is the story of our @cityspaces team. The story of our founders Gwyn and Linda, our colleagues past and present, but most of all, how 2.0 is going to be awesome.
Congratulations @nsedky and @jadabasi . Lead on!
