The LAPD sends our condolences to the Huntington Beach Police Department. One of their officers was killed in the line of duty tonight, after the police helicopter he was operating in crashed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his co-workers, and his injured partner.

Due to several incidents of organized retail theft at multiple cellphone stores in the City of LA, with several locations in the San Fernando Valley, the LAPD has added extra patrols including detectives, both as a deterrence and to investigate & arrest those behind these crimes.

Please join me in congratulating Roxanne Flores who was recently promoted to sergeant. Roxanne worked Metro for 7 years and served as the divisions injured on duty coordinator. Her commitment to her job and compassion for officers was truly appreciated and will be missed.
